The Third Eye Perspective:
By Carlos C. Brown
Thought For Today – “Your Sacrifices For God Are NOT In Vain!”
When a person find themselves on the fence of trying to decide if they want to follow Jesus (Be Baptized, or Rededicate Their Lives To Serving Jesus Christ), I’d be willing to bet the first thing or question that pops into their minds would be “is this worth it?”. If they have already been Baptized, they know the expectation of a Christian, you have to live according to the 10 Commandments and “TRY your best” to resist any and all sinful temptation. Now notice I said “TRY” to resist any and all sinful temptation. Also you are expected to fellowship with other Christians on a regular basis, and then try and spread the word of God to the Lost Souls in an attempt to try and get them to have a change of heart and “take up a Cross and follow Jesus too!” It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about “Your Sacrifices For God Are NOT In Vain!” and AMEN goes right here! But the one thing that gives most Christians trouble, is this one about “resisting any and all sinful temptation”, afterall temptation doesn’t play fair. It (Satan) knows your weaknesses, therefore it knows just how to get to you and distract you from your Spiritual Mission. If you are an adulterer, temptation places the most beautiful people in your reach who are ready willing and able to satisfy your every desire. If your temptation is lying, you will be tempted with opportunity after opportunity where you find yourselves caught up in situations where you THINK lying is the only way out. If your biggest temptation is materialistic things, you will have people placed around you that have ALL the things that you desire, Money, Power, Expensive vehicles, False Respect, etc….That also works if your biggest temptation is stealing, you will be placed in situation after situation where you will be tempted to steal items that “appear” to be easy targets. No one is around, so no one will see me is the mindset. But as I’ve told you previously, God sees and knows ALL. You can’t do ANYTHING without Him knowing about it so why even try in the first place?????
All the things I’ve listed above would only be a small portion of what would or could possibly be considered as “sacrifices” that would have to be dealt with on a regular basis by a “potential” Christian convert. They will reveal whether intentionally or not, their own personal view of their resistance level of temptation by even the mere practice of having to stop and ponder if they are capable of being successful at resisting those temptations that have controlled their lives so much to the point of driving them to want to free themselves of the sin in the first place! And trust me, we ALL have that one (some have more than one) sinful temptation that has controlled us at some point. It is just a part of life for a worldly person, but especially a Christian person. Why? Because Satan isn’t concerned as much with the worldly person being tempted. He knows he already has them under his control to keep them there, but when start actin like uppity or “siddy folk” and thinking they need to be “SAVED”, oh he has a HUGE problem with that! “How dare you try to resist all of the temptations I’ve placed in front of you to keep you under my (Satan) control”. The very fact that if you consider these to be “SACRIFICES” therein lies a HUGE problem with your priorities! And since we are on the subject of “SACRIFICES”, let me tell you a brief story you may or may not have heard about real “SACRIFICE” and I’ll be very brief here. You see, there was this “Man” who really wasn’t a “Man” afterall, but the “Son of Man” aka God. He was born to a virgin (yes you heard that part right), took on the human form to come down in this world to experience sin, oh and that word “temptation” and to teach and preach the world of the Gospel according to God, whom just happens to be His real Father. Well you see to speed this story along, He performed all these miracles for people and yet still not very many people believed He was who He said He was. So they put Him on trial and found Him guilty and sentenced Him to death by being nailed to an old rugged Cross that He had to carry himself all the way up to Calvary’s Mount. Now He was beaten and bruised and tortured until the flesh was torn from His face and body. I’m sorry what were you saying about “SACRIFICES” again??? Yeah kinda what I thought….
How big of a travesty would it be if NO ONE believed in Jesus Christ after all He had to endure just for “US”? Nomatter how bad you think or believe it will be to resist your sinful temptations those “Sacrifices” if you will are not going to be in vain. Just because you have to give up some “thangs” in order to completely experience the true power and Glory and Favor and especially Grace of God it is the only way. The good thing about it is that God doesn’t expect us to be “P-E-R-F-E-C-T” in any way form or fashioned. However, He does expect us to make an honest attempt at Perfection! That is because He made us in HIS likeness (That means just like Him) and He IS ALWAYS Perfect! You don’t have the potential to be Perfect, but that should not stop you from sincerely striving to be a perfect Christian! Furthermore, there are NO sacrifices you could make in your life that would compare to the ones that Jesus Christ had to endure just to save OUR souls and give us everlasting life in Heaven! IF we just be Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost and loudly and proudly proclaim, and more importantly BELIEVE wholeheartedly, that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for ALL of our sins (Past, Present, and Future), and that He is the only Lord and Savior that we will serve, “henceforth, now and forever”! If you are willing to do that, then God can and WILL accept and use you for the “advancement of Kingdom building”. To wrap this up, never think that any “sacrifice” that you make in your life and in the name of Jesus Christ is in vain. IT ISN’T! Think about the sacrifices Jesus Christ made for you and me when He didn’t have to and he did it willingly and without any hesitation! Can I leave you with this question:
After all that, do you feel that any sacrifice you make now in trying to serve Jesus Christ will be in vain”?????
Can I get an Amen????
"There's just "something" about the name "Jesus"!
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that exactly what He did for us on the Cross?”
