“This is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!”
“Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
Psalm 23:6
“A guarantee is only as good as the one who gives it.“
My thoughts today are about “A lifetime guarantee.”
By Pastor Allen Randolph
It is wise to read the small print on any guarantee. They are grand promises without full intention of fulfillment. A lot of guarantees are meaningless, filled with too many exceptions and limits that make them useless. Most expire before they could ever expect to be needed, or include so many requirements on your part that you would probably fail to qualify for the promises made. Just when you need them, you may find the guarantee “null and void.”
There’s a reason for today’s conventional wisdom that, “If it sounds too good to be true, it isn’t?” Your daily world will be filled with promises, some made with good intention and some not. A guarantee is only as good as the one who gives it. It is not so much what is promised that is important, but who is promising is critically important. The real issue about which you must be sure is the history and integrity, as well as the ability of the person making the guarantee to do what they have promised to do.
Can the promise of today’s scripture really be true? Does it sound too grand and all inclusive? To answer that you have to look at who is making this promise. David is confident about the source and security of this promise of goodness and mercy, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want” – and the duration of its extent, “all the days of my life . . in the House of the Lord forever!”
Look at His history. “There has not failed one word of His good promise . . watching to see that My Word is fulfilled . . My Word shall accomplish that which I please.” 1 Kings 8:56/Jeremiah 1:12/Isaiah 55:12.
Examine His integrity. “In Whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning . . God, Who cannot lie . . keeps His covenant and mercy to a thousand generations.” James 1:17/Titus 1:2/ Deuteronomy 7:9.
Consider His ability. “For with God all things are possible . . Who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that you ask or even think.” Mark 10:27/Ephesians 3:20.
God offers a lifetime guarantee that you can trust. “Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever.” Goodness is when God gives you what you could never deserve on your own; mercy is when God does not give you what you really do deserve! Now that’s a guarantee that you can believe in!
My prayer for you today is that all your days have a lifetime guarantee, and beyond!
K-Love’s Encouraging Words:
There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.
James 2:13 (NLT)
“You Pray for Me, and I will Pray for You, We Pray for each other, and watch God answer”
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that exactly what He did for us on the Cross?”
