Thought For Today – “The Fruit In My Orchards Are Starting To Ripen”
Hello again my brothers and sisters in Christ! Question, by a show of virtual hands, how many of you have been or are at a stalemate in life, but could almost literally feel a breakthrough was so close that you could almost touch it? You had/have been living in a season where anything and everything that could go wrong, DID go wrong? You remained faithful in trying to live right, do right, and still one bad thing after another kept happening to you. You prayed about it diligently everyday and night, maybe even had other people pray for and over you, but still you seemed to keep drowning in bad luck? You tried everything you could think of under the sun to turn things around, but nothing seems to work for you. It is at this point, when a lot of people either think about throwing in the towel, or actually does do it. In their mind, they justified that it seemed easier to just give up and quit and let whatever happens happen, because there just does not seem to be any hope for positive change anytime soon. More people than you would believe are at this point in their lives right this minute! You may never know it, because they seem perfectly fine in the public eye, because that is the impression they want you to have. Nobody, especially an adult wants to be considered a failure, loser, screw up, irresponsible or as the old timey reference goes “Janky.” That is ghetto slang for bad luck, or a person who seems to be cursed, “here comes so in so with their “Janky” behind, I hope they don’t come over here by me, cuz I sure don’t want any of their bad luck to rub off on me” LOL! It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “The Fruit In My Orchards Are Starting To Ripen.” And AMEN goes right here! Now if you have never been to an orchard of some kind, when the fruits (apples, grapes, oranges, peaches, plumbs, pecans, strawberries, etc..) of that orchard is ripe for picking, you are truly missing out. I can only associate it with being like a kid in a candy store with a pocket full of money! Orchard owners also know the pain of sometype of natural disaster wiping their orchards fruit out in one fail swoop. The biggest joy I’m sure for the orchard owners, is when everything is in full bloom and the fruits are getting very close to being ripe. That state of the fruits growth process, signals $$$$ to soon be filling the orchard owners bank accounts.
There is a lot of preparation work that goes into working an orchard, before you can enjoy the fruits (no pun intended) of your labor. In an already established orchard, in the spring the orchard owners have to spray, fertilize, maybe even prune their crops to ensure its maximum growth potential when the fruits are ready and ripe. They have to make sure that they get plenty of sunlight and hydration, and the bees need to also do their jobs of pollinating the fruit blooms. All of these things work in harmony to help the orchard bring forth is bounty of good fruits. Now, let me flip the script on you, let’s use this same analogy in reference to our daily lives currently. Just like with an orchard, we have to treat our lives pretty much the same way don’t we? First we have to make sure that we are planted in very fertile soil, meaning that we have a roof over our heads, adequate clothing on our backs, good nutritious food to eat, good clean water to drink, do a little, maybe even a lot of exercising depending on how healthy we desire to be. Next we have to make sure to receive sometype of fertilizer in the form of (fruits, vegetables, and protein of some sort). We will need to be pruned periodically also just like the fruit plants in the orchard. I would associate this with a good strong Christian Faith, along with a good Church, and a pastor who preaches the Truth from the Bible. This process here will help us to shake off the dead parts or branches of our souls, allowing it to grow new and even stronger branches. I would associate having a strong relationship with God and the covering of the Blood of Jesus Christ, for the protection that pesticides being sprayed on the orchard would provide. You have to pray the Blood of Jesus over you and your family to keep the dark forces from invading and wiggling their way into your life to wreak havoc just like parasites in orchards does. Just like with a real orchard, sometimes natural disasters will strike that cannot be avoided. It you stay deeply rooted in that fertile soil, the damage we experience will most of the time be minimal. However, even if like in some orchard owners cases, that you do get completely wiped out, as long as you keep your eyes focused on God, you can always start over again the bounce back even better than you were before! And AMEN goes right here also! I know, I know, I know, you are waiting for that Biblical reference that breaks it down and ties it all together….
“When King David and his men returned home from battle, they discovered that the Amalekites had burned their homes to the ground and taken their families prisoner. They were devastated. They wept until they had no tears left. Then God spoke to them and said, “Pursue…overtake…and…recover all.” And with His help they did!” So no matter how bad your situation looks right now, don’t give up. Cry if you have to, then dry your tears and go out in God’s strength, and take back what the Enemy has stolen from you. If necessary, take it an inch at a time, drawing on His strength and not your own. Paul writes: “Let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint” (Gal 6:9). God won’t quit on you, so don’t quit on Him! He has promised in His Word: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God” (Isa 43:2-3 NIV). Don’t give up—go through! It’s easy to quit, but it takes mustard seed Faith to go through. When your Faith honors God, He honors your faith! And with Him on your side, you’ll come out stronger than you were when you went in. So the word for you today is: “Pursue…overtake…and…recover all.” If you are feeling inadequate, or like God’s promise above does not apply to you for whatever reason, you are buying into the lies of the enemy! The devil wants you to believe that God does not care about you anymore because you are not worthy of His caring. You have made mistake, you have committed sins, you have done bad things, none of which you can do nothing about after they are done. In the Old Testament beliefs, there might be some truth to that. But Jesus Christ bridged that gap and giving us an outlet to be forgiven for our sins, when He died on the Cross at Calvary’s Mt. Can I leave you with a very powerful question to answer honestly?
“With your Christ Jesus mentality of looking at things, can you see the Fruits in YOUR orchard starting to ripen?” Can I get an AMEN?
“Today, choose to “Ride or “Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that exactly what He did for us on the Cross?”
