Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this Monday morning, good I hope? Did you have a good weekend, I sure hope so? Well it’s the start of a new work week, and I hope yours is off and running in the right direction so far? Have a good and very Blessed Monday and rest of the week too! - May God Bless You and Yours In 2018 and Beyond!!! - “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. Thought For Today – “On The Road Again, Destination Nowhere!”
Hello again my peeps! When people decide to go somewhere, whether it be on a vacation trip, to work, to the grocery store, or even just down the street, they have a “destination” in mind. They might not have sat down in front of a computer, and or typed in their destination in a GPS, unless you call your mind a GPS, and mapped out their route but they have all the details worked out even if only in their minds. But have you ever just been in a mood to hop in your car, (or on your horse, in your Truck, or on your motorcycle if you have one) and just drive with no particular destination in mind? Especially on a beautiful Spring sunny day? The reward of being able to do that without the concern of time, or where you have to be at any particular given moment in time, can’t be described into words. Imagine the feeling of being able to just get in (or on) your mode of transportation and just “cruise?” The scenery for whatever reason, seems to be very therapeutic for your soul, even more so than the lack of feeling obligated to choose a destination. Your only concern at that moment, is a false sense of total freedom. One of the many reasons I envy retired people (young and old) who are able to and frequently do travel all over the world, it would appear that they have this same sense of “Destination Nowhere” and cast off on one traveling adventure after another! Just in my experiences alone of experiencing this “freedom to roam” mentality, on a very limited basis I might add LOL, I have managed to see the Arkansas “Pig Trail” during the fall when all the trees leaves are in the process of turning, the miles and miles of agriculture fields out in California, and a few other scenic places in my rodeo trip travels. That’s one reason I never minded driving as much in the early years of me competing. Now, it is more like a job LOL! But I still love to go and compete when opportunity permits which hasn’t been very much lately due to a recent auto accident. With that being said, it is with this train of thought or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “On The Road Again, Destination Nowhere!”. And AMEN goes right here also!
Ok, ok, ok, as always, it’s curveball time LOL! Time to get serious! As good and fun, and “therapeutic” as the above described sounds, it isn’t a good thing if that is your mentality about your “Spiritual Life.” Not having a confirmed destination (ummm that would be Heaven for the slow folks) as your “Final Destination,” is a very dangerous mentality to have. Living your life, especially your “Spiritual” life on cruise control without a final destination programmed in to your GPS (Spiritually, Mentally, and Physically) will cause you to end up in a final resting place that won’t allow you to experience rest, peace, nor tranquility. Notice the order in which I listed the places you need to program your “GPS”,
#1. Spiritually – If your GPS isn’t programmed for a “Spiritual” destination (Heaven) then you need to enjoy your time on earth because that will be the extent of any pleasant times you’ll ever experience. After your time on this earth is up, your destiny will be to burn in the fiery pits of Hell. A lot of Church Pastors won’t preach on this anymore because as a human race, people have gotten to the point where they apparently doesn’t thing it exists. They won’t go and listen to a Preach who preaches on it, they would rather go and listen to the ones who preaches “feel good” sermons. Why, because “feel good” sermons results in frequent and very generous Church offerings being made, not to mention huge popularity! The preachers of today who are bold enough, and convicted enough to still preach about Hell being a real place and also destination if you don’t get your “Spiritual Business” fixed before your time on earth expires, then you will find out the hard way that it does exist! It is very important to have your GPS set on a destination of Heaven “Spiritually” because that will allow your soul to be totally and completely healthy the entire time you are on this earth and at peace even in the times of chaos and turmoil.
#2. Mentally – If your GPS isn’t programmed for a “Mental” destination (Spiritually) then you need to change your line of thinking ASAP! Think about all the people who suffer from mental illness, some of them were born that way and yet others have had traumatic occurrences happen in their lives that resulted in them just taking a “break from reality”. The first instance that comes to mind in regards to this one, would be our Soldiers who have fought in the Civil War, Vietnam, World War one and two, The Gulf War, Iraq, etc….the things they must have witnessed had to have been so bad that the average human could never prepare for it in advance, and not come back with sometype of “Post Traumatic Stress”. The importance of your mental health in making your mind stronger as possible, to deal with the chaotic things that could and in most cases, WILL happen in our lives is very imperative! I have so much respect and sympathy at the same time for people with anytime of mental illness. The agony they must deal with on a daily basis just to appear normal, has to be so great that the average person could never understand. And these people often times are as tough as nails on the exterior, but very fragile on the interior. Some can endure almost anything you could throw at them physically and you would never see the break or crack. While the smallest most insignificant things emotionally can literally shatter their perception of reality. With challenges like this and so many others, the human race has work even harder to train their mental and emotional capacity for “Spiritual Warfare.” You can’t take that lightly and think you will survive even the small battles, but especially not the war itself. For those that don’t already realize it, you mind is where 100% of battles or anytype of war, Spiritual or Physical is won or lost. And AMEN goes right here too!
#3, Physically – If your GPS also isn’t programmed for a “Physical” destination (Spiritually aka Heaven), your Spiritual and especially your Mental wellbeing will be very unhealthy, which in turn will result in a wide variety of health issues. The “physical destination” I have in mind is keeping your body (God’s Temple) clean. You should really think about every single thing your body consumes, in reference to how it will affect your “Spiritual Health” good or bad! If in the Bible God refers to our bodies as being “Temples,” then we definitely need to view it the same way. You only get ONE physical body, and when you wear it out from things like alcohol abuse, stress, drugs abuse, smoking, poor nutrition, etc…you shorten the life span of your earthly body. Think about the older generations and how long they used to live before all of the things we have today that causes poor health that are “manmade?” Some of the Biblical people (People who lived before, during, and shortly after Christ’s time on earth) were in the hundreds, like Moses who the Bible says in Deuteronomy 34:7 was 120yrs old! It also says in that verse that “yet his eyesight was clear, and he was still vigorous and strong”! If you think that is impressive, it goes on to say that Adam (Adam and Eve) lived to be 930 years old, Noah lived to be 950 years old, and Abraham lived to be 175 years old. And those were just some of the more notable ones from the Biblical times ages! Can you imagine how “Spiritually and Mentally” healthy they were to be “Physically” healthy enough to live that long? What I am going to call the “Trinity of Christian Total Health” (Spiritual, Mental, and Physical Health) is detrimental to EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN or even Potential Christian! But all three of these aspects work in unison to complete Spiritual totality!
I have a very serious question for you:
What direction are you headed? And more importantly, what is YOUR destination????
Can I get an Amen or two?????
“Choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ!!! Afterall, isn’t that EXACTLY what He did for us on the Cross at Calvary?”
