Thought For Today – “Who Are You “Assigned” To?”
“This is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118: 24). Hello again my dear peeps, I hope that you are Blessed and Highly Favored today? You know, God is really working on someone with these last three messages, as they will tie into each other. This message actually believe it or not, came to me Monday as I was listening to Pastor Ron Carpenter. However, like some of my messages do, God apparently wasn’t ready for me to share it with my audience that day. It needed to marinate in my heart and on my mind a little, and I had no clue why until the past two days messages were received. They are a Part one, two and three punch of messages. In his sermon, Pastor Carpenter was discussing the life of Ruth and Boaz and how Ruth’s mother-in-law Naomi, had advised or “mentored” her throughout the entire process of getting, gaining and keeping Boaz’s attention until he eventually took her as his wife. He made some very powerful statements in his sermon, and one that I formulated of my own, that went a little something like this……Pay very close attention to whom you find yourself connected or “assigned” to, because the influence of that person(s) on your life, will either bring you blessings, or a curse! And AMEN goes right here! It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “Who Are You Assigned To?” And once again, AMEN goes right there! Here is a very true statement, Just anyone and everyone should not be allowed to have, or be given access to your fields (aka inner circle or personal life). Why? Because some people will come into it and wreak havoc and chaos every chance they get, because is just their very nature and purpose in life. And if you really and truly believe you are “assigned” to them by God, the purpose should be to help move them into a new season, aka become a Christian, and or a better Christian or person, also changing their life for the better. If that is not happening after a considerable amount of time, then you have to be honest with yourself and question if indeed it was God, and not you yourself who assigned you to them in the first place! If God assigned them to you, positive changes will take place, because you are helping to fulfill His will for that assignment (aka person). And God’s Will ALWAYS comes to pass, nomatter how strong the resistance! And AMEN goes right here as well!
Now in order to fully and completely understand the fullness and or “meat” of this message, we need to define what the word “Assign” means. The dictionary definition of that word is as follows: “To allocate. A job or duty. And now to define the word “Assignment” : “A task or piece of work assigned to someone as part of a job or course of study.” Now, Pastor Carpenter spent an entire year preaching and teaching to his congregation about the relationship with Ruth and Naomi. He broke it down verse by verse in a series. He felt there were so many important lessons we could learn from that relationship. My message today is going to go in a different direction than Pastor Carpenters. My message is going to deal with the “assigning” ourselves to, or God assigning us to someone for some reason. By a show of virtual hands raised, how many of my loyal readers sincerely feel they have been “assigned” to someone in particular for whatever reason? And by “assigned,” I mean you feel responsible for that person in some way form or fashioned? Personally speaking, in a sense I feel I am assigned to every person I share my “Third Eye Perspective – Thoughts For Today” with, just not on an individual basis. I get people telling me all the time, “You were speaking to me, or this message was tailor-made just for me, or God uses you to speak to me everyday,” Etc…. And although that is an awesome thing, I don’t feel “I” can take any credit for that. I have to give God ALL the Glory of the effectiveness of these messages! I have said it many times, “all I do is type what I feel He places on my heart to share that particular day! I am in noway form or fashioned, in control of the messages He places on my heart or how effective they will be once completed and shared.” I am even amazed myself at times, when I feel after writing them, that the person who was supposed to be reached by the messages was ME! And AMEN goes right here too!
The curveball that I am so notorious for throwing in these messages, on today’s subject is this, the person you are “assigned” to by God is the person who you feel drawn to in a very undeniable way. It could be a family member, a friend, an acquaintance, or even your significant other. Whatever the case, there will be something about that person, that keeps you always looking out for their best interest and well-being. However, here’s a very important warning that you need to make sure and take note of: You have to make sure that the person you are “assigned to” appreciates your efforts enough to allow your assignment with or on them, to be completed for the good. There are people who you may feel drawn or “assigned” to, and they bring you nothing but chaos, confusion, and most importantly frustration. This usually means they were not “assigned” to you by God, but that you just feel sometype of sympathy compassion for them. This next statement popped into my mind, that I at some point in time heard Pastor Carpenter say in one of his sermons I listened to, “Make sure that you are constantly plucking the bad weeds from your good harvests, so that they won’t grow up alongside your good crop and choke them out.” This is very important, because those weeds are growing in the exact same “fertile” soil that your planted crops are! The weeds will feed off of the same nutrients that your crops are feeding off of, which will allow them to have the same chance of survival as your crops do, however even more of a success of choking out your crops due to their vile nature. Weeds tend to have a higher resistance than domestic planted crops do and can survive extreme conditions, whereas the crop can’t. That is why farmers will fertilize their crops, and also spray chemicals on the weeds to kill them out! Pastor Carpenter’s statement came from the Biblical verse (Matthew 13:25) “But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat, then slipped away.” The translation I received from this, is that you have to be very careful who you allow into your wheat fields (aka your life, circle, etc…) because, if the enemy gains access, their seeds of destruction will be sowed without you knowing, and after you let your guard down and not paying attention to their actions. As I bring this to a close, can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may???
“Have You Done A Thorough Background Check On The Person You Think You Are Assigned To? If not, then what are you waiting on, they could be sowing weeds in the fertile soil of your wheat crops as we speak? Can I Get An Amen????
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that EXACTLY what He did for us on the Cross at Calvary?”
