Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this Wednesday Humpday morning, good I hope? Is your work week going great, good, just “okay” or bad? Well I hope it is going great so far, and if not, well there’s two more days left for things to potentially turn around for you! Have a good and very Blessed Wednesday and rest of the week too! - May God Bless You and Yours In 2018 and Beyond!!! - “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. Thought For Today – “Lord, Is This Mine?”
Hello again my peep! You know, one of the hardest things we as human beings hate hearing, is being told “NO” don’t we? That two letter word can bring even the strongest and the most toughest men down off of a high horse and humble them can’t it? By a show of hands, how many of you in my virtual audience handles being told “NO” really well? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, very interesting results! Either you are not being very truthful, or you have found a way to master the art of rejection. I personally have not met any human beings who were very disciplined in reacting to being told “NO” to something they really, REALLY wanted every single time! Now that’s not to say that they don’t exist, I’m just saying “I” don’t know any LOL!! And AMEN goes right here! LOL! This subject came to me as I was listening to Pastor Ron Carpenter’s Devotional series called “The Encounter Part - #5.” It is a very powerful series of sermons that I’ve been listening to, that has really impacted my life in a very positive way. I suggest all of you make the time to go and listen to these messages on his YouTube channel, by typing in the title above in the search engine. They are usually about 20-25 minutes in length. With that being said, it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “Lord, Is This Mine?” And that my brothers and sisters is a powerful statement! And AMEN again goes right here! If you would, turn with me into the book of Genesis chapter 2 thru chapter 3. For the sake of time and space, I will just type this verse, “The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (Genesis 3:13) Father God in Heaven, please anoint me to relay this message across to my faithful readers in a way that YOU would have me relay it to them to fill their hearts and minds with the truth of Your Holy Word, in Jesus Christ’s name, AMEN!
After reading those verses, you should be able to identify two really good opportunities for my subject title to be applied in the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, at the time when they both ate of the apple. The first being, when Eve found in the area of the forbidden fruit tree. To my female readers, here is a prime example of why it is NOT good to become distracted when you are with your man, ya’ll tend to make rash decisions LOL! Easy, easy, easy now, I’m only funning…well kinda, sorta, in a roundabout way, “funning!” LOL! But seriously, think about how differently things would be for us in the world right now today, if Eve had stopped and simply said four little, but very powerful words….. “Lawd, Is This Mine?” I can see God sitting up on His Heavenly throne, in a very frustrate state, slumped down with His head tilted back, eyes rolling around and shaking His head. I’ll paraphrase it this way, “Deep sigh, nah Eve I done already told you to stay away from, and NOT to eat of that tree’s fruit! But to answer your question, NO it is NOT yours!” with loud claps of thunder and lightning booming all around, putting an exclamation point on His response! And well you know how “some” (notice I said SOME LOL) women are, they will have to go and get a second and even a third opinion before they believe anything a “man” says won’t they? LOL! “Ummmm, Adam? Ohhh Adaaaaaaaam, where are you honey? Oh there you are! Okay, so check this out, I know God told us NOT to eat of the forbidden fruit tree, but get this, there’s this really slithery talking beast that was over by the tree and he told me that God didn’t really mean we would actually “die” in the literal sense of the word, but that we would just become very informed and our eyes would be opened to new knowledge and experiences that we’ve never been privy to! In other words, we would be JUST LIKE GOD, doesn’t that sound great baby? It sounds like a great deal to me, I say we go for it! What do you think?” Here is the second opportunity in this Biblical story where the same four little words could have been spoken and just maybe Adam could have sacrificed what was left of their favor with God. But like a lot of men today, who follow blindly behind their woman’s lead, he too never thought to ask the question, “Lord, is this Mine?” I could see it going a little something like this….. Gee Eve, I don’t know, God was pretty clear on that we should not only never eat of that forbidden tree, but that we should never even be anywhere near it as to not be tempted to eat it. However, you seem to have done all the background work on any potential repercussions, so I guess I’ll have a taste of it too!” The Bible says that when they ate of the forbidden fruit, their eyes were immediately opened, and they both realized among other things, that they were both naked, and cursed to experience things God never intended them (and us) to experience. Things like pain, sickness, disease, death, lack, etc...”
From that point on, the wheels were put into motion of man’s downfall for being disobedient. The serpent (aka Satan, formerly Lucifer when he was still in Heaven) had gotten the crack in the door of the human race’s foundation that he needed, in order to put his plans into effect. Another Biblical occurrence comes to mind where the same for words could have saved someone a lot of grief, would be the story of the prodigal’s son. (read Luke 15: 11-32 verse). Now I have written about this story many times, because it has so many good lessons we can learn from it. Being that I have written about it multiple times, I won’t go back thru the whole entire story, I’ll just say this…..the moment that he made his mind up to ask his father for “his” portion of his father’s estate, that would have been the perfect time to ask, “Lord, is this mine?” And God would have undoubtedly told him NO, not yet! But let’s just go ahead and fast forward the story to the point of when he was in the midst of squandering his fortune, that was given to him by his father, on women and partying, etc…that would have been another good point to stop and ask, “Lord, is this mine?” Meaning, is this lifestyle for me? God would have most definitely told him “NO.” And fast forwarding even farther into the story, to the point of when he was broke, destitute, and not a friend in sight to ask for help, that was partying with him before the money ran out, (that tends to happen to you when people who claimed to be your friends disappeared, when all the money and free drinks, food, women, men, aka the FREE rides, or whatever is nolonger available) and he was contemplating eating the very “slop” he was feeding the hogs because he was so hungry. This would have been the best scenario for him to ask the question, “Lord, is this mine?” Once again, God would have told him “No it’s not!” In bringing this closer to home, this very same method can work for you too. The first thing you have to do, not need to do, or want to do, but HAVE TO DO, is make sure you are in good fellowship with God. If you aren’t, then you need to repent for anything and everything you know you’ve done wrong that you haven’t asked Him for forgiveness for. Next, you need to ask Him to allow you to be back in good graces or standing with Him so that you can hear Him when He actually does answer your question. Once you have accomplished all of this, the rest is pretty simple, just ask Him the question……. “Lawd, Is This Mine?” If He tells you it isn’t, then put it down plain and simple! Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may?
“Are you at a crossroad in your life about a decision you are trying to make? If you are, then turn it over to God and just ask Him “Lord, Is This Mine?” If it is, you don’t have to worry about the details of how and when, that is not your concern, it’s Gods!” Can I get an AMEN?
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that exactly what He did for us on the Cross at Calvary???”
