Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? Are you having a great work week so far, I sure hope so? The first month of 2018 has come to an end, and I hope yours has been a very good and positive start for the new year? Have a good and very Blessed Wednesday and rest of the week too! God Bless You and Yours in 2018 and Beyond! QUESTION: “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. You need to be totally sure where your Soul will spend eternity!” And AMEN goes right here…”.

The Third Eye Perspective:
By Carlos C. Brown
Thought For Today – “The Danger With Receiving God’s Favor”
Everyone who follows any denomination of Spiritual Faith knows what “Favor” means in regards to our Lord and Savior. However, I still feel it necessary to define the word for those who might not know what it means. If you were to google the word “FAVOR,” you would get the following as a result – #1. approval, support, or liking for someone or something. #2. An act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.” Now when you apply this definition after the word “God’s Favor,” the definition changes drastically. And for some people, receiving “God’s Favor” can also have a negative impact on their lives if you can believe that? Now remember, I tend to see things a little bit differently than most, which is where the title “Third Eye Perspective” originated from. So with that, it was placed on my heart this morning to speak about “The Danger With Receiving God’s Favor.” And THAT my brothers and sisters in Christ will Preach all by itself! And AMEN goes right here! Now I know already, that some of you are looking at me a little strange by me making that statement about receiving God’s Favor being dangerous aren’t you? I mean, how could anything from God be of all things “dangerous?” And the answer to that question would be simply, that it will make some people way too relaxed in their Faith if they receive too much of God’s Favor. I know, I know, I know, you are thinking that there can’t be any such thing, as having “too much” of God’s Favor, and you would be correct. However, the problem comes in, when that overabundance of Favor causes you to forget to be humble, and to keep doing what you were doing to receive that Favor in the first place! Yes, yes, yes, now you are starting to see where this is going aren’t you? But because I know my audience so well, I know that the rest of you are wanting some examples of this problem in order for it to be confirmed in your mind that what I’m saying is true and factual! Heavenly Father, I come to you with a bowed down head and a very humbled heart, trying to humble myself before your Throne of Mercy the best way that I know how. Asking that you show me your Will for how this message is to be presented to my audience, as well as how you would have me to relay it to them in the most clearest way possible. I also ask that you forgive me for any sin I am guilty of committing, and trespasses against my fellow man, and most importantly, any of your Commandments I may have broken and not asked your forgiveness for until now. I give you ALL the Praise and ALL the Glory you are so worthy of, I can’t thank you enough, I can’t praise you enough, and I couldn’t even if I had ten thousand tongues, it would still NOT be enough Lord, because you are THAT worthy! I ask this in your sweet darling Son Jesus Christ’s name, AMEN!
Now if you read yesterday’s devotional, “Failure to Plan, is a Plan For Failure,” you will remember that what I’m about to use as my first example was mentioned in that devotional too. But it is very relevant here too. When Lucifer was still an Angel in Heaven, he received more of God’s Favor than any other Angel. He was established by God to be the angel of worship, one whose ministry surrounded the heart of Heaven. Lucifer was created to dwell eternally in the throne room of Heaven, and in the very presence of God. His appearance was beautiful and dazzling. And he radiated light and glory. He was covered with gold and shimmering jewels. Lucifer was the Chief Covering angel and he worked in the throne room of God. In other words, Lucifer was God’s “right hand man,” as it is known here on earth. So needless to say, he had more “Favor” bestowed upon him than any other angel. Even his name Lucifer translates from the Hebrew language to me “Shining One” because it is said that he “reflected the glory of God, just as the moon reflects the light of the sun.” Where Lucifer made his mistake, was that he received so much “Favor” (there’s that word again) from God, that he started to wonder what it would be like to have all of the other angels worshipping him like they did God. The more Lucifer thought about that possibility, the more he lost his focus, or desire to keep performing his duties of Praise and Worship leader in Heaven. This eventually led to Lucifer rebelling, and convincing 1/3 of the angels in Heaven to rebel with him if you can believe that. That is how highly those angels thought of Lucifer. This caused a major war in Heaven, but get this, God was not involved in that war! The Bible says that God instructed the Archangel Michael to cast Lucifer down from Heaven to the earth, along with those 1/3 of rebelling angels! And the rest as they say, is history. The next example of “The Danger With Receiving God’s Favor,” happened not too long after the first one. It is when God created The Garden of Eden, and then created Adam and Eve to dwell in it. (read Genesis 2:4 – 3:24) There was a reason God called it “The Garden of God,” because it was just that beautiful and perfect in nature. This garden was so perfect, that Adam and Eve never had any need to wear clothing over their bodies. It had everything they needed food wise, shelter wise, clean clear waterfalls and streams, lakes and rivers. Basically, the Garden of Eden was so perfect that Adam and Eve didn’t really have to put forth very much effort to do anything to survive. They had all of their needs furnished by God himself. The Bible even speaks of God himself coming down into the Garden in the cool of the day to walk among Adam and Eve personally! With all of this perfection, aka “Favor” Adam and Eve had, they only had ONE….repeat after me, ONE catch…….stay away from the tree with the forbidden fruit, aka the “tree of life and knowledge.” Well once again, we all know how that story turned out, they ended up eating of the fruit and everything changed forever. Oh, and Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden just like Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven!
The next example of someone in the Bible receiving so much of God’s Favor, that they ended up losing everything they had because it changed their way of thinking, living, and even their whole being, was the Israelites. They received so much Favor from God that they were even labeled “God’s Chosen People.” Imagine how beneficial that was to have God himself place that label on a whole race of people? Generation after generation of one particular race of people were shown unlimited Favor all of their lives! That is very hard to fathom in this day and age isn’t it? I mean you have different races of people who THINK they have the unlimited Favor of God over them, but the Israelites actually did have it. And just like in the two previous examples, they lost it when they became rebellious, spiritually lazy, and full of sin. They basically became so unappreciative of God’s unlimited Favor, that they felt they didn’t even need Him anymore. They went against everything He had asked them not to do, worship idols, broke His commandments they had agreed to live by, became perverted, lustful, and adulterous, and stopped recognizing Him as their one true God. The end result was being forced into slavery by Pharaoh in Egypt for 400+ years. And even when they finally realized their mistake, and corrected it with God, and He freed them, they still reverted back to their old ways shortly after, causing them to experience 40 more years of isolation in the wilderness (desert). All of this because of the unlimited Favor they received from God wasn’t appreciated like it should have. Okay, okay, okay, so now you know about a few of the examples of people who didn’t remember how to appreciate God’s Favor. Let me tell you about one who did. Job was a wealthy man who lived in a place named Uz, with his large family. He had ten children, and large flock of sheep, camels, and other animals. He had a very big expensive house with multiple barns. Job was a very Blessed man, who had experienced unlimited Favor from God because he lived righteously. To make a long story short, one day Job lost everything, his fortune, all of his flocks, his home, and even his children. This was all the result of an attack by Satan to see if Job would turn away from God after losing it all. Instead of doing just that, Job Praised God even more. And because of his faithfulness to God, Job had everything he lost restored with double of what he had before. The moral of this devotion, is for me to warn you NOT to get too comfortable if or when God pours out his Blessings and Favor on you. Never stop giving Him the Glory for all that He does for you. Never stop Praising Him for who He is, not just for what He can do for you. Last but now least, always remain humble. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may?
“How Do You Handle God’s Favor When You Receive it? Can I get an AMEN???”
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, isn’t that exactly what He did for us on the Cross?”
