Morning Christian Words of Encouragement - "Have you told the good Lord "THANK YOU" for allowing you to survive 2017? Think about it, some people weren't that fortunate and Blessed!"
The Third Eye Perspective:
Thought For Today – “If God Were To Deposit 2018 In Your Account, How Would You Invest it???”
Read that subject line again very slowly, because it is a very serious question to ask someone at the start of a brand new year that we’ve never seen before, isn’t it? What you value most will be tied to your response. If it is money, then in your mind, you have probably already spent the $2018.00 God deposited into your account. LOL. “I could take a trip to a casino and maybe I’ll hit it big and get to retire early?” Or maybe, “I could pay off those credit cards I been putting off paying the full balance on?” Or maybe, “that would be a down payment on a new car?” Or maybe, “an early vacation, somewhere tropical?” Or maybe, some of you would say, “I’m just going to put it in my savings account and save it for a rainy day fund?” Just maybe, If you are one of those wannabe “bawlaz,”, you might go to the local strip club and “make it rain on some hot sexy women?” Maybe, if you are a woman, “I could go buy me a new wardrobe of the hottest new fashion designs, go to the spa and have them pamper me from head to toe once a week for a few months, or I could maybe get a facelift, a tummy tuck, or a BOOB job?”…for women, the possibilities are endless of what they could do with that much extra cash right? And for the men, I could see some of them buying new guns for hunting season, accessories for their pickups, cowboys, a new horse or saddle, new boots, hat, maybe some golfing lessons or some new golf clubs. A down payment on a new motorcycle, etc…you get the picture….hopefully.
Now for me, with my “Third Eye Mentality,” when I read that I thought to myself, “If God were to deposit 2018 into MY account today, how would I invest the whole year He has just Blessed me with?” Yeah, some of you just puked your priorities up and spit them out like you had just drunk some spoilt milk LOL! Realizing you had just screwed up an opportunity to capitalize on God Blessing you with an entire year up front but because you didn’t have your priorities straight in your heart, you missed the boat so to speak. As I look back on the year 2017, there were so many opportunities where my priorities were not in check and it cost me dearly. As the old saying goes, “you live and you learn, or hindsight is 20/20.” But that doesn’t make us feel any better about our mistakes, does it? Yes, as long as you learned something positive from the experience, it shouldn’t be considered a total loss but that doesn’t usually make us feel that much better does it? At the end of, but more importantly, start of, each new year, people make all sorts of “resolutions” that they most often times stick to for a few days, some a few weeks, and yet others a few months before falling back into the same old same old routine. I have to admit that I am guilty of it myself. One thing I have not failed on when it comes to this is whole “New Year’s Resolution” thing is working out and getting into shape. For the past three, going on four years I have started working out around the month of November or December and continuing to stick with it until the springtime when the weather changes, as well as the time, making the days longer and more pleasant to enjoy outdoors. And don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with making “resolutions” about changing your lifestyle for the better. But not sticking to those resolutions might say a little something about you and who you are.
Think back to all of the Biblical readings along these lines, where God basically gave people a new chance or opportunity to make a difference or to have a better life? Some took full advantage of those opportunities and yet others just squandered them thinking foolishly, “Well if God gave me once chance He’ll give me another.” As happened with God, when He made the painful decision to erase mankind and start all over again (refer to the great flood, raining for 40 days and 40 straight nights), it was just that “painful.” What so many people on this earth don’t realize is how much God loves us and wants nothing but the best of everything for us. He doesn’t like pain and suffering, disease, nor famine, and he despises sin of any kind big or small. BUT, what God won’t do is force you to conform. No, He gives us a free choice to choose any path or direction we want to. If we choose wisely, meaning according to His commandments, then more times than not we will end up on the Blessed side of things. But, however, if we choose to go our own way, living according to our own rules, then we will suffer the consequences of our decisions. So knowing that upfront, why would you choose to strike out on your own when you know that God is not involved in your decision making? Today on this last day of 2017, and a brand new year about to start, take full inventory on 2017 briefly, of decisions you made that God wasn’t involved in and how that turned out for you. Use that as motivation in this new year of 2018 to NOT make those same mistakes. It is my Hope and my Prayer that everyone reading this is not only Blessed in some way by it, but that your 2018 turns out to be your best year ever! Can I leave you with a question to ponder if I may?
"Now that you have an opportunity for a redo on the question I asked you at first, how will YOU spend your 2018 if God were to deposit it into your "Life" account?"
Can I get an Amen???
