Thought For Today – “When You Leave The Word of God, Death Follows…”
Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? It is Thursday and the work week is almost done. I hope that you have had a great work week so far? By a show of virtual hands, how many of you are experiencing “storms” in your life? Now I don’t mean spring showers, I mean “STORMS,” where you are stressed to the point that it is making you mentally, emotionally, and even physically sick in your body? Maybe the “storm” you are facing right now is of a financial kind? Or maybe it is an mental or emotional type of “storm.” It might be a relationship type of “storm.” Then again, it might even be a physical “storm” that you are facing right now? Last but not least, it might just be a Spiritual “storm” you are dealing with in your life? Nomatter which type of “storm” listed above that you are dealing with right now, one thing you can bet your life on, is that Satan is behind it. And the reason(s) that his “storms” that are raging so hard, and appears to be so successful over you, might just be your own fault. The Bible tells us that we (Christians) are going to have some “stormy” days in our lives, once we start to live for Jesus Christ. However, if your “storm” is getting the best of you, it is likely because you have wandered away from God for a good period of time. It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “When You Leave The Word of God, Death Follows.” And THAT my sisters and brothers will PREACH! And AMEN goes right there!
Now, I am going to throw a curveball at you…..Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. #29 For whom He did foreknow, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. #30 Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.” Now, in tying this into the subject of this message, he’s what those Bible verses are basically saying: Because the steps of a “righteous” man are ordered, nothing can prevent him (or her) from reaching their destiny. However, we can end up taking some wrong turns along the journey if we embark out on it without God’s guidance and covering. Some of the storms we face in our lives were NEVER meant to cross our paths! What are you trying to imply Brotha Carlos, what does that mean? It simply means this, some of the “storms” that blew onto our doorstep was a direct result of poor decisions made by us. In the Bible, King Solomon was known as the wisest man of all time. He was also known as the wealthiest man ever in the Bible. Now if you don’t know who King Solomon was, he was King of Israel, and also the son of King David. You remember King David right? As a teenage boy, he grew to popularity but defeating the Philistine Giant named Goliath with just a sling shot and three smooth stones. Out of the entire Israelite army, that teenage boy (David) was the only one who wasn’t afraid of Goliath. Why? Because David was a champion for God! The Bible also states that David was a man after God’s own heart! And AMEN goes right here too!
Now, in case you didn’t pick up on it already, when I say “death follows,” I am not just talking about “physical” death. Now watch this, “straying or leaving” God’s presence can result in the death or demise of each and every area of your life. First your Spirit will start to weaken, because you have not fed it the “Soul Food” it needs to get nourishment to stay strong! When your Spirit starts to fail, you morals, character, and good behavior will start to fail also! You will find yourself making poor and immorality decisions about your life that you wouldn’t normally make if your Spirit was healthy. When you continue making those immoral choices in life that satisfy your flesh, your “Physical” body will start to deteriorate. You will become satisfied with attending Church services once every blue moon, instead of every Sunday. You will become sick both mentally, emotionally, and especially physically. It will seem like your body is always running on “E,” and loss of energy and determination to do even the smallest of things is not there. We all know what happens when our body’s health start to fade, we start missing out on the good things in life. First, we start missing work if we have a job. Next we will start to fail in our relationships with our significant others, our friends, and especially our families. We become that person that no one wants to see coming in their direction, because our negative energy is so strong, that it will even drain someone else’s positive energy down. If you are aware enough to notice that everyone is avoiding you because of the negative energy you have going on, then you will alienate yourself from the outside world, by crawling up under a rock and hiding wishing it would all go way. The reason it is so important to stay in good and close contact with God at all times, is that when you mess up, a simple repentance for that mess up will have you right back in good standing with God, but also His protective covering will continuously be over your life! It is never a good idea to stray away from God! The “Death That Follows,” some people don’t recover from. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may???
“Are you currently straying away from, or in hiding from God? Yeah? Then you now know why your life is in such turmoil.”
Can I Get An AMEN????
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ. Afterall, He did exactly that for us on the Cross didn’t He?”
