Morning Christian Words of Encouragement – “Are YOU 100% sure, that you are Saved and headed to Heaven when you die? Are you sure YOUR name IS written in the Heavenly “Book of Life?” Is there absolutely not a shadow of a doubt in your mind, that your Salvation is already secured and you’re just waiting on the good Lord to call you home to be with Him? If the answer is “No, Not Sure, I Think So, Maybe, or Probably, then you need to get busy right now working on fixing that. You need to be totally sure where your Soul will spend eternity!” And AMEN goes right here….

Thought For Today – “The Well You Are Drinking From Won’t Quench Your Thirst…”
Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? Are you having a good work week so far, I sure hope so? You know, this time of year it seems like things are usually dry and all of the foliage is normally starting to turn brown from the seasonal changes of Fall. But for some reason, whether it be “climate change,” or just some other type of phenomenon of nature that has resulted in us having very mild summers with lots of rain, the plants, trees, grass, etc… has remained green for the most part. Don’t ask me how or why, but for some reason that got me to thinking about well’s running dry, and trying to quench my thirst. It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart today to talk about “The Well You Are Drinking From, Won’t Quench Your Thirst.” And AMEN goes right here! I know that subject with PREACH! Now, being a Cowboy/Country Boy myself, I know all about water wells. My grandparents had one that supplied water to their house. Now not everyone has the tastebuds needed to be able to drink “well water,” but ME, I do and I love it! My barn where I keep my horses has a well too, and in the summers when there is a drought happening, that well will only pump a certain amount of water each day. Now if you know horses, then you know that they can drink a lot of water. My well couldn’t keep up, and that resulted in me having to haul water out to my horses in 55 gallon barrels a couple of times a week just to keep up with their dire “thirst.”
Now, when we start talking about water, thirst, wells, etc... from a Spiritual and especially a Biblical point of view, I am immediately taken to the scenario that took place with Jesus Christ and the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well in the Bible. If you don’t know the story, you can read along in the Bible starting with John 4:1-25 verses. I’ll try to summarize here as to not make this be too long. Basically we have two people from different backgrounds (Jewish and Samaritan) who the Bible makes very clear did not have a lot of love for each other. Those two cultural and religious backgrounds were not fond of each other at all. Jesus Christ tired and weary from His journey, and came to Jacob’s well. The Bible says it was about the 6th hour. Then came a Samaritan woman to draw water. Jesus asked the woman for a drink of water, “for His disciples had gone away unto the city to buy meat.” The woman immediately took issue with Jesus’ request not knowing “who” He was, but recognizing “what” He was (a Jew). She coped an attitude with Jesus saying (I’m paraphrasing here), “You have some nerve to ask me for anything! It’s not secret how you Jews feel about us Samaritans! And let me just tell you, the feeling is very mutual! We don’t like you Jews either! And besides, you don’t even have anything to draw water with, how are you doing to ask me for a drink when you don’t have anything to draw water from the well with?” Now watch this, Jesus responded to the woman with “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given the “living water.” The woman still stuck in her attitude towards Him, continued to speak to Jesus with disrespect. Jesus told her “Whosoever drinketh of this water, shall thirst again. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” And AMEN also goes right here!
Now of course when woman heard this, she wanted some of the water Jesus spoke of, even asking Him for some of it. Jesus throws her another curve ball, “Woman, go, call thy husband , and come hither.” The woman responded with “I have no husband.” Jesus answered, “Thou hast well said, I have no husband. For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that sadist thou truly.” At that moment the Samaritan woman recognized Jesus was a prophet and she ran to tell the towns people about Him. This is where my subject comes into play. Because in case you didn’t catch it, what transpired between Jesus and the Samaritan woman was this, She had been through FIVE husbands and was working on her SIXTH! She appeared to be thirsting for something in these relationships with these men that she was lacking. Sadly, until her encounter with Jesus Christ, she had no idea what it was she was searching (aka Thirsting) for. Jesus basically told her that “The well you are constantly drinking from, will NOT quench your thirst. I am the only living water that can quench that thirst you have.” Basically, the woman at the well was trying to have her unmet needs from either her childhood, or some other point of time in her earlier years, where she experienced loss fulfilled. She just had no clue how to go about it. Instead of seeking out a Spiritual resolution to her issue, she sought out physical ones in different men. This same scenario happens all day everyday to people who did not have all of their adolescence needs met growing up. Anything a child walks out of childhood lacking or missing needs wise, (Love, Attention, Affection, Appreciation, Acceptance, etc..) they will seek it out in adulthood via sin, when only Jesus Christ can supply it. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may?
“What are you “thirsting” for, from your childhood era? And are you searching for a Spiritual drink (living water), or a Physical one (Sin filled)”?
Can I Get An Amen?
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, He did it for us!”
