Thought For Today – “Wherever There Is Chaos, God Wants To Bring Order.”
Good Morning Saints! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? “Happy Humpity Hump Day To You!” How is your work week going so far, good and productive I hope? I received todays thought, while listening to Pastor Ron Crawford’s message about “Why Am I Stuck?”. As you may or may not know, anytime we feel “stuck, or in the middle of chaos” when it comes to our lives, we first need to look in the mirror when trying to investigate the cause of it. To some people, “chaos” is normal. And if Chaos is “normal to you,” then you think that is order. If you have lived in dysfunction all your life, then you think dysfunction IS function to you. It isn’t until you get around or in the presence of order, that you start to realize that you are messed up. It isn’t until God exposes you to something “right,” that you start to realize that you’ve been wrong. And it isn’t until God exposes you to true “order,” that you realize what order really is. And AMEN goes right there! I haven’t even started my message good yet, and it’s already trying to Preach itself! And it’s funny, I’m not getting very many AMEN’S right now, so I know I must be speaking to a lot of your hearts! It’s hitting home with you, you are either experiencing “Chaos” in your life right now, or you know someone who is? Either way, this message has your full attention right now doesn’t it? Well Glory to God, because the Bible says that when God wants to get your attention, He has a 100% success rate at doing so! And AMEN goes right here too! It is with that train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “Wherever There Is Chaos, God Wants To Bring Order.” Amen, and AMEN again! Anytime we experience “Chaos and Dysfunction” in our lives, God will send us something or even someone that is living with order and function to let us see what it looks like. In other words, God will expose you to normal function and order so that you know what the standard is, and or should be. At that point in your life, you have the power to change your life to also become normal and free from that chaos. And again, AMEN goes right here!
Now, if you were to read the entire Bible, you would find a lot of examples of Chaos and dysfunction. Yesterday I spoke about Lucifer and the 1/3 of former Angels that rebelled with him in Heaven, resulting in them all being kicked out along with Lucifer (aka Satan). God does not like nor will He tolerate Chaos and Dysfunction. There was also Chaos in the world in the time of Noah. You remember him right? Noah was one of the ten pre-flood Patriarchs, whom God spoke directly to, and instructed him to construct (build) a great Ark for him and his family and two (male and female) of each animal on the earth to survive the impending floods that were coming to rid the earth of Chaos and Dysfunction. Noah was also a man that lived a very long time. In Genesis 5:32 you learn that at 500 years old, YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT, I said at 500 years old, Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japeth. You see, the actions and behaviors of the people during that time frame had become so sinful (aka Chaotic and Dysfunctional), that it angered God to that point that He decided it was better to start the human/earth cycle all over again by using a handful of His Faithful people, than to let the chaos continue. Another example of God bringing order to Chaotic and Dysfunctional people in the Bible, is when He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah! These were two cities in the Bible that are described as being full of sin, corruption, and I’m about to step on some toes here, homosexuality. Now don’t kill the messenger, read in your Bibles in Genesis 19th chapter, and also Jude chapter 7. When the two Angels were sent to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, God had already made up His mind to destroy both cities via the two Angels. The men of those two cities made it worse (punishment wise) on themselves when they showed up at Lot’s (Abraham’s nephew) house demanding that he hand the two visitors over to them. The BIBLE (notice I said BIBLE not Carlos) says that the crowd of men wanted to gang rape the two visitors, not knowing they were Angels sent on behalf of God to cleanse (destroy) both cities with fire and brimstone. After Lot unsuccessfully tried to deter the crowd of angry men, the two Angels struck all the men in the crowd with blindness, and then informed Lot of their mission to destroy the cities. Because Lot befriended the two Angels, and tried to protect them, they spared him and his immediate family. Allowing them to escape as the fire and brimstone started to rain down on the two cities.
The last example I’ll give you about God bringing order to chaotic situations, is when He removed the Israelites from 400 years of slavery under Pharaoh, but made them spend 40 more years in the desert because they strayed away from Him and away from the covenant that they had entered into with Him. When they came to the border or edge of their “Promised Land,” and saw the Canaanites size they became angry with God, even implying that He had forsaken them and some even wanted to go back into slavery under Pharaoh. It is crazy, that they felt it was better to be a slave than to be wandering around in the desert starving and unsure of what their future entailed. That’s what happens when you turn away from God for any amount of time, you will start to exhibit chaotic and dysfunctional behavior. In order for God to bring order back to His chosen people, He had to let them stay stranded in the desert until all of the leaders of the 12 tribes had died off due to disobeying God, and new leaders could emerge that would direct the masses back to living under God’s covenant. Now, after reading about those three or four examples of how God deal with Chaos and Dysfunction, how do you think this applies to you today? First, let me remind you that nomatter what you might here about new versions of the Bible coming out, nor what some people might feel is their opinion of God’s word changing, the Bible clearly states that God’s word NEVER changes! It is the same today, as it was yesterday! The fact that men have tried to re-write the Bible to be more in line with what they want it to mean, the original text tells us that God’s word shall always remain the same. (read Numbers 23:19, Hebrews 13:8, and James 1:17).With that being the case, it means that if you are partaking in, engaging in, living in or even initiating, “Chaos and Dysfunction,” at some point in time, God is going to do something to bring order back to your life. He may judge you harshly like He did the two Cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He may also judge you like he did the Israelites, allow you to wander around in the desert for 40 years until you wake up out of your chaos and dysfunction state of mind. One thing is for sure, despite what you may have heard, as the Bible says, “Whatsoever a Man Soweth, So Shall He Reap Also.” Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may?
“Are You Stuck Living In Chaos and Dysfunction Right Now?”
Can I Get An AMEN???
“Today, choose to “Ride or Die” with Jesus Christ! Afterall, He did it for you!”
