Thought For Today – “Life’s Rhythms And Non Negotiables”
Good Morning Saints! How are you doing, good I hope? Are you having a good work week so far, I sure hope so? By a show of virtual hands, how many of you women like to go bargain hunting? Or maybe flea marketing or yard saleing? Of those of you who raised your hands, how many of you think you are a really good negotiator, aka “haggler?” Now to all the men in my virtual audience, how many of you like the process of buying things like new vehicles, houses, property, livestock, etc…anything basically where there is an opportunity to pay a cheaper price than advertised? It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart today to talk about “Life’s Rhythms and Non Negotiables.” I feel very confident that this subject will most definitely Preach! And AMEN goes right here…. Now as I have stated before in my “Thoughts For Today,” my Grandfather Lee Andrew Brown was a master negotiator! So good in fact, that by the time he was done, he would have the seller of whatever it was he was buying from them feeling like even they walked away with a good deal LOL! I used to really get into going with him to buy cattle to stock and restock his Santa Gertruda Cattle operation. He was very picky on who he purchased his cattle from. For the most part, he would mainly stick with the Rockefeller Ranch up around Pettit Jean Mountain here in Arkansas, and the G.W. Atkinson Ranch in Palarm, Arkansas. These were two very large Santa Gertruda specific Ranches, so needless to say their cattle were not cheap in the least bit.
Now, let me talk about a different kind if “negotiating.” But first, to better understand the term, let me first define the word “Negotiate” – which means to “obtain or bring about by discussion. Find a way over our through and obstacle or difficult path.” However, in the context that I am going to use it, I am going flip it backwards in meaning. In the way that I am going to use it, I am going to refer to the things in our lives that are Non-Negotiable! Things like having to work to pay our bills, and put food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a roof over our heads, and to buy cars to get to and from place to place. That is not something we can negotiate unless we were born wealthy. Some other things that we can’t negotiate in life are breaking the law, because if we do there will be punishment am I right? We can’t negotiate our race, color, . It was already predetermined from the day we were born. We can’t negotiate how other people will act or behave, nor what they will think about us, good or bad. Nor can we negotiate the rules of our Salvation, it is already predetermined also. Which brings to mind the Covenant that was made with God by Moses when God gave him the 10 Commandments. And for all the descendants of Adam and Eve (that would be ummm YOU And I) we can’t negotiate the fact that we ARE going to sin, and that we will have to answer one day for our sins. And that the only way to be forgiven of our sins is to go before God’s Throne of Mercy as ask Him to forgive us. The last Non-Negotiable I’ll mention, is the fact that nomatter how much we try, we CAN’T negotiate death! Because “A man born of a woman is but of a few days and will surely die….” As the Bible states.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, that all seems a little gloomy doesn’t it? Well how about we talk about the other part to that subject heading, “Life’s Rhythms,” or simply put, the things that keep our lives clicking right along in a good and positive direction! When most people think about the word “Rhythm,” they probably think about dancing to music of that particular person’s favorite genre. The things that I am referring to that allows our lives to click right along to a steady beat are things like #1. Having a very close intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior! If you don’t have this, nomatter how hard you try to live a normal life, you will always feel empty on the inside and be searching for something you’ll never find, total and complete fulfillment. #2. Take care of your body health wise. Nomatter how wealthy you are, if you don’t make this one a priority, you will find yourself miserable if you can’t be active and do the things you like doing. Remember, your body is your TEMPLE that God will or will NOT dwell in depending on how healthy and clean it is! #3. Try your best to eliminate all the grief undo stress in your life. Some people are just miserable in nature and well as the old saying goes, “Misery loves company.” That is very true, if you don’t believe that, just look around at a miserable person, they spend every waking day trying to make other people miserable too. #4. Develop a or some hobbies to help you enjoy life even more. Everyone needs hobbies, those are the things that allow us to forget about all the bad things we deal with on a daily basis. #5. Wake up every more with a new and positive attitude about life, especially your own life! Remember, “a positive mind, and positive thoughts generate positive things! #6. Last but not least, figure out a way to find a career that you love doing, that way it will never be a job to you! I have stated many times, that I absolutely LOVE my job and really like all the people I work with everyday! The moral of this Thought For Today, is that our lives has to consists of true and natural balance (Rhythms and Non Negotiables). If not, then we will not be able to live a life that at the end of it is free of regrets. Can I leave you with A Quest To Ponder Today If I May?
“Is YOUR Life Right Now In Total Or Complete Harmonious Balance? If Not, Then What Are You Going To Do About It?”
Can I Get An AMEN?????
