Thought For Today – “You Don’t Reach Your Destiny All By Yourself”
Good Morning Peeps! How are you doing this morning, good I hope? Did you have a good and productive work week? I sure hope so? You know, on my way into work this morning, I was listening to Pastor Ron Carpenter (IDisciple app), his sermon this morning was about “Creating A New Structure.” In this message, he talked about “times and seasons, and purposes,” and also he mentioned our “Destiny.” It is with this train of thought, or line of thinking, that it was placed on my heart this morning to talk about, “You Don’t Reach Your Destiny All By Yourself.” And AMEN goes right here! Now when it comes to talking about our “Destiny,” we first must understand what a “Destiny” is. The word “Destiny” is defined as: “The events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future. Or The hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future; fate.” Each and everyone of us have our own individual separate “Destiny” placed in us from the very moment we are conceived. God places this “Destiny” in each one of us, at that very moment believe it or not! Some of us are destined for greatness, while others are only “Destined” for mediocrity, because we are not willing to put forth the effort to fulfil the “Destiny” God wanted for us to fulfill. Let me repeat that, because some of you all didn’t get that did you? I SAID, “some people will go on to do great things and fulfill their destiny, while others will only reach mediocrity because they weren’t willing to put in the work necessary to reach their “Destiny.” And AMEN goes right here!
Also, there are a lot of people in the world today, who allowed other people to kill their will power to reach their “Destiny.” They bought into people telling them, “you ain’t going to be nothing, because your daddy ain’t nothing, your granddaddy wasn’t nothing, and your great, great, granddaddy wasn’t nothing either,” and your momma ain’t nothing either, heck come to think about it, nobody in your family has ever accomplished anything worth talking about, so you really don’t even have a “Destiny” accomplishing gene in you to even be successful at accomplishing anything! In other words, you are doomed to never accomplish anything positive or great.” And believe it or not, there are people who will believe that and allow that to sink in deep enough into their minds and believe it! There are a lot of people walking this earth, and also those that have passed on, that really and truly believe that other human beings have the power to determine what their chances are of fulfilling their “Destiny” are! This is why we as Christians, have to learn and live by the fact, that not everyone you associate with belongs in your longterm life and or “Destiny” plan! Let me repeat that, because this is a very IMPORTANT point and I need each and every one of my readers to get this point. I SAID, “NOT everyone you associate with, belong in your LONGTERM LIFE and or “Destiny” plan! Sometimes God brings people into your life for only a SEASON (aka period of time), and that is the extent of their significance in your life. This includes the good and bad experiences we’ve had with people, who has come and gone in our lives. They served their purpose in taking you to the next level or placed you on the next road on the path of your journey to your “Destiny.” In other words, you are expected to learn something from the experience you had with every person that has come and gone, or is still in your life, whether it was a good or bad experience. And AMEN goes right here!
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know, I know, you still aren’t hearing me, because I’ve not given you any Biblical examples right? LOL! Okay no problem, I got you right here……….In the garden of Eden, when the serpent (aka Satan) tempted Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit tree, that right there was a “Destiny” moment! God knew it was going to happen, and YES He could have stopped it. However, our God in Heaven is a God of free choice! He wants us to be able to choose and make our own decisions. Another good example, of a “Destiny” moment in the Bible, would be when Noah and his family CHOSE to abide by God’s covenant set forth, to keep them in good fellowship with God at all times, when everyone else in that time and era was running amuck as the old saying goes. You all know how that turned out? Remember the Great flood of 40 days and 40 nights that destroyed everything on the earth EXCEPT for Noah, his family, and two of every animal that was on the earth at that time. Yet another “Destiny” moment example from the Bible, would be when a young shepherd boy named David was sent to the battlefield to check on his brothers, who were at war with the Philistines, became a true champion for Christ, when he took on a man’s and a warrior’s mentality, and entered into combat with the Philistine Giant Goliath. Not only was he not afraid of Goliath like his brothers and all the other Israelite soldiers were, but young David defeated him with just a sling shot, and 5 smooth stones. Now here’s the best example of “You Don’t Reach Your Destiny All By Yourself.” The children of Israel had to endure 400 years of slavery and oppression, and then 40 more years in the wilderness before they could reach their “Destiny” aka the “Promised Land,” known as Canaan. All of the 440 years that they spent in bondage helped shape the route needed to reach their “Destiny” because they mad one not so little mistake, THEY DIDN’T FOLLOW GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REACH THEIR DESTINY IN THE FIRST PLACE! God gave us all the directions (10 Commandments) of how to reach our “Destiny,” but even today we still try to do it our way. And it ends up delaying us a lot of years of “bondage” so to speak before ever reaching it. Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I may???
“How Close Are You To Your Destiny?”
Can I get an AMEN???
Long Live Real Cowboys!
