The Third Eye Perspective:
Thought For Today – “Lost and Found”
Good morning Saints, I hope that you are having a great work week so far? It is Friday and the weekend is finally here! I hope that you have something fun, exciting and or relaxing planned? Today, it was placed on my heart to speak on “Lost and Found”. There’s nothing worse that losing something you place high value on is there, a loved one, a significant other, a child, a close friend, your house or car keys, your wallet or purse, and god forbid your cell phone! Some people about lose their minds when they lose their cell phones, but don’t seem to be all that concerned when it is something more important. The fact of the matter is, losing pretty much anything valuable, is no fun at all. Now, thinking outside of the box a little, by a show of virtual hands, how many of you have been lost from God? Pretty much everyone’s hands should have gone up if you are still walking this earth. That is because everyone has at some point in time been out of fellowship with God, or “strayed” away from Him. There are a lot of people who are still “lost” and sadly, will die not knowing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
There is no better feeling, than finding your lost item(s) is there? A huge sigh of relief rushes out of us as we can now relax and not be so paranoid of all the scenarios that possibly could happen. But we aren’t the only ones who hate losing things, God hates losing one of his children to the world. Even if it is for only a short period of time, it still saddens God to lose one of us from being in good fellowship with Him. When Lucifer rebelled against God after becoming jealous of God and Jesus’ relationship, and ultimately Lucifer’s being expelled from Heaven, had to have deeply hurt God? When Adam and Eve disobeyed Him in the Garden of Eden and ate of the fruit from the forbidden tree, that also had to hurt God deeply. Afterall, He warned them of what would happen, and they did it anyways. When Cain slew his brother Abel out of jealousy, God was deeply hurt because that was the first recorded murder in the Bible if I’m not mistaken. When God had to send the 40 days and 40 nights flood to kill all oh mankind because they were evil and start over had to really hurt God. When King David committed adultery with Bathsheba, then had her husband killed in war, that made God very sad. When the Israelites failed to recognize their rightful place in God’s eyes for 440 years, this had to have hurt God deeply. When the people of Sodom and Gomorrah turned so sinful that God destroyed both cities, that had to deeply hurt God. When Jesus’ persecutors beat, mocked, and tortured Him then nailing Him to an old rugged Cross, we know this hurt God deeply. All of these are examples of people in Biblical history who strayed away from, and or fell out of fellowship with God, which is the same as been “Lost”…
How about we now focus on “being FOUND”, like when either your mother, grandmother, or a friend, maybe even a former Church member convinced you to come back to Church to get back into fellowship with God? Or maybe you even convinced yourself to do it? You just had an epiphany out of the clear blue, or something terrible happened to you and you found yourself at rock bottom. That causes more people to find the Lord again, and even for the first time, that probably anything else. I know each of you reading this, can think of at least one person who NEEDS to find Jesus either for the first time, or the second, third, or fourth time! Now, think back to when you found Jesus, or when you woke up out of your worldly stupor and realized you needed to reconnect with God? Once you made that decision, it because the best feeling in the whole entire world didn’t it? One thing that needs to happen that’s not happing enough right now, is for Christians all over the world to try to lead the Lost to the Cross. People are leaving the Church in large numbers everyday. And although I can’t say with any certainty that the amount of people leaving the Church versus the ones joining is higher or lower, there shouldn’t be any Christians leaving the Church in the first place. If even one leaves, that’s ONE TOO MANY! God hates to lose even one soul to the world, let alone a large number of them. Satan and his demons are working just as hard to steal souls from God as Christians are working trying to help lost souls get saved! It’s about time we turn up the heat in this battle for souls! We have given way too much ground in recent years! Can I leave you with a question to ponder today if I might???
“What are YOU doing to lead the “Lost to be Found” at the Cross?”
Can I get an Amen???
