R.G. was born in Butte, Montana on July 31, 1937, to Jack G. and Margaret "Pearl" Gunnels Kekich. He spent his childhood in Butte, MT, Spokane, WA, Kellog, ID; returning to Sheridan in 1948 after his father was killed in a mining accident. R.G. enlisted in the United States Army when he was 16 years old and served until 1955 when he was honorably discharged.
R.G. joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in 1969, qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo in 1976 in the Steer Wrestling event. R.G. was a Gold Card member until his death. He shared the love of rodeo with many friends, both in Sheridan and on the rodeo circuit.
R.G. was an "imp" all of his life. Cantankerous and lovable, he drove his siblings, Eileen, Betty, John and Jack to distraction. He was quick with a joke and could tell them for hours on end. He could tell stories of his rodeo days with such flare as to make you believe you were in the arena with him watching the events.
R.G. is survived by four of his children, Melody Chapman of Brashear, TX, Tami Erb of Gillette, WY, Shelly (Gene) Scott of Albuquerque, NM, and Rado Kekich of Sheridan, WY; two granddaughters, Reann (Terri) Archibald of Gillette, WY and Brittiny (Dave) Trevino of Denton, TX, and one grandson, Billy Chapman of Del Rio, TX as well as four great grandchildren. R.G. was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Christina; his two brothers, John and Jack and his parents. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thesheridanpress/obituary.aspx?n=rado-george-kekich&pid=174528859&fhid=28864#sthash.aQrOdENl.dpuf

: Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo on
: ‘Cougar’; Jeff Coelho qualified and competed
: on ‘Little X’ at the National Finals Rodeo
