Foot and mouth desease
In fact, there have been many demonstrations around the
country and the continent. I went there, thnking I would
encounter solely punks and other activists my age handing out flyers to passengers and carrying along banners, but no,
there I found people aged 40-50 (and a few my age) who were simply outraged. There was a microphone set up
and everyone was invited to come up and speak. The first one
was a 75-year-old man, who held a fiery speech. In the end he added that not only this crisis had opened his eyes, but that he had been a vegetarian for over 55 years: me and my
friends went bezerk, and the rest of the crowd with us.
Later, several men and women came up, telling
Holland as always had to be the "good kid in class" (we're talking the Europarliament here) doing everything Brussel
tells them too, following the rules by not vaccinating.
They called for civil inobedience and for revolution, and
we all cheered. Civil inobedience it will ####ing be.
I went on stage too, saying that I had been practicing
animals rights protests for years, but that there was a lack of interest all that time. I said that we had to
find one thing positive in this crisis: that people will
lower their meat consumption, that the masses will see things are going wrong.
I called: Vive la revolution!! and all those
people who I never expected it from cheered and yelled and
tapped me on the shoulder as I walked back to my
friends....
