I removed the solenoid and took it to an alternator/starter repair shop where it checked out fine. When back on car I get 0.00 ohm resistance between solenoid positive post and chassis[ground]. Note: this is without terminals connected to post. Does this throw any more light on problem?
Also, how difficult is ignition switch to source and replace? I recently used WD-40 on ignition switch as it was sticking. Could this have caused any harm?
