Dear Mr. Ellinsky:
We arrived home safely with the new Borgward on Saturday evening last.
We were certainly pleased in the way in which the car performed, its comfort and its economy. I kept a record of the amount of fuel used and on the basis of having driven 1,050 miles we averaged 33 1/3 miles to the gallon which I thought was especially good in a break-in.
The only peculiarity which I noticed was that de-acceleration at around 40 miles per hour there seemed to be sort of an unevenness in the motor operation as if the motor logged when the fuel was not being pushed into it. Could this be a usual fault or will it disappear as the motor is further broken in?
We appreciate very much the kindnesses which you showed us in regard to the delivery of the car and all other details.
Sincerely,
Ernest H. ---------
