I just got a hold of a Gonic 50 cal mag (???) barrel that will fit my Contender.
It's stainless, 16" long and uses 209 primers.
My problem is I have no manual or load info. I've loaded countless thousands
of smokeless cartridges and shot shells, but no black powder.
As I see it this makes me a danger to myself, others on the range, and low flying birds.
So my questions are, what bullet weights and styles are a good match for this barrel.
I have a preference for Lee molds and am in possession of several hundred pounds
of soft lead sheet, and plenty of casting experience.
Second question, What size(f, ff, etc,) black powder, pyrodex or other propellent is best,
and of course recommended starting and Max loads?
