Here are some photos to help identify this rifle --Previous Message-- : I need help identifying a muzzleloading rifle : that has been handed down in a central North : Carolina family for decades. Rough : measurements suggest .44-.45 rifled caliber. : Rifle is 53.5" long, octagon barrel is : 38.5" Has no distinguishing marks or : inscriptions. Front-action percussion lock. : Has about a 3/4" dia. hole in the right : side of the stock. Barrel is pinned to the : stock. Lock is held in place by a single : screw from opposite side (no metal on that : side). Brass trigger guard. Two triggers : with an adjustment screw between them.
