Greetings. I am an old guy with shooting experience spanning 40 years, but I have recently purchased my first black powder weapon, a Ruger Old Army, 7.5 inch barrel in gloss stainless. I have been doing research on the pistol and muzzle-loading in general, but I have one question which I have not been able to answer through my research, hence I must burden this forum with my inquiry.
Once the cylinder is loaded and sealed, for how long is this loaded cylinder viable, ballpark, weeks, months, a year? Thanks for your indulgence.
