I'm not the diehard BP fan like TC, but the caps you are using are probably more to fault than the nipples as long as they are clean and dry. I go after those things with a brass brush and pipe cleaners then rinse in denatured alcohol to dry. If your using Pyrodex or American Pioneer you could be having trouble if you have high humidity
