: My son just received a Richland Arms Remington
: New Model Army 44 from his grandfather. The
: book which came with it recomends .454 ball
: size and a letter which came with it
: recomends .450 ball size. We are loading
: with felt wads. Which size ball do we use?
:ALL revolvers do not have the same size of chamber. you do not want a ball that fits too loose even with the felt wads there is a danger of chain firing but the real problem wold be recoil moving the balls forward in the cylinder.
if they were not tight enough and this would caus all sorts of problems hangfires, misfires, chainfires, cylinder not turning, and ruin a good day. use tight balls
Jay
ps. do not order a mold until you try differnt balls
