Thanks for the reply, but the gun isn't a LePage, although it looks similar to one. It's a reproduction of a gun made for Pietro Beretta, and was made by a small maker in Italy, whose mark is an S inside an octagon that's inside a circle. I'm trying to find out who the maker is. I have already contact Track of the Wolf and Dixie, and neither of them know anything about this gun, nor have the ever sold it. It was a limited run of 1000 from a small Italian maker.
I have the original paperwork on the gun, and it was only sold through the Beeman Precision Airguns catalog in 1983, and the closest gun made today is the "Mang in Graz" model from Pedersoli, with the only difference being the decorative extension at the bottom of the butt. If you compare my gun closely with the Mang in Graz and the LePage, you'll see what I mean. Here are images of both. This gun more closely resembles the Mang by far. I know everything about this gun except the actual maker...that's what I'm trying to find out. The Mang in Graz and the LePage are produced by Pedersoli, and this is not a Pedersoli gun. I have contacted Pedersoli as well to see if they know the stamp of the maker, but they're not familiar with it. It must be a very small gunmaking company.
If you check out the butt and the fluting on the LePage, you'll see they are not at all similar, but the "Mang" model is nearly identical except for the buttcap extension.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, though. I appreciate it very much.

: The gun you show in the picture was marketed
: as a Le Page percussion target pistol. I am
: not sure who built it, but it was marketed
: through Track of the Wolf among others.

: I own a .44 caliber percussion European
: match
: pistol made in 1983, but there are no
: identifying maker marks other than a
: "S" inside of an octagon that's
: inside of a circle. The gun is nearly
: identical to the Pedersoli "Mang in
: Graz" model sold by Davide Pedersoli.
: I've searched high and low for some
: information on who made this pistol, but
: can't seem to locate anyone who knows
: anything about this gun.
:
: The gun was sold through the Beeman
: Precision Airgun catalog in 1984, and was
: sold as the "Pietro Beretta
: Aristocrat." In their literature,
: Beeman said it was made by the same small
: Italian gunmaker who originally made them
: for Beretta back in 1835, and these
: reproductions were a limited edition of 1000
: (I have #0362). I contacted Beeman directly,
: but they were useless and provided no
: information. Apparently nobody there
: remembers anything about it, or would bother
: to dig around and locate some information on
: the maker.
:
: Anyone recognize this gun, or could make a
: guess who the maker is from just the
: "S" barrel stamp?
:
: I've had it appraised at $1,300 based upon
: the price of the Pedersoli gun, but the
: appraiser suggested it would be worth a bit
: more as it appears to be better quality,
: plus it's a limited edition that's never
: been fired.
