The gun is .53 calibre and it should shoot a .520 round ball. The mold I have is made by Palmetto Armory, and is double cavity, I am not aware of any manufacture that makes .520 round balls. The number on the tang is where the gun falls in the 1 in 1,000 sequence. Uberti made kit guns from the same molds as the 1 in 1,000 series but they had no numbers stamped on the tang. If yours has numbers stamped on the tang, it is a 1 in 1,000 gun, and is not a kit gun. I hope this helps.
