Nope, I'm down under in Argentina. My pistol uses .433 round balls (which I cast with a Lee
mold) and a cotton patch wetted with spit or WD40. I bought the gun from Dixie and it has Italian proof marks. We have a local FFg powder that's not terribly good but that is the only game in town. Like I said it's a Pennsylvania single shot pistol and I load it with 40 grains of black powder. Used to have a can of Curtis & Harvey but I used it all in my Navy Colt and my black powder .45 Colt Single Action. I know the patch has to be 100% cotton and will try the .10 thickness first. What I really wanted to know is what diameter the patch should have. Any advice on patch lubricant also welcome. Thanks

: Oh boy, you must be across the pond in europe
: ey? I'm guessing you have a .45 caliber
: single shot pistole. here in the states we
: would use a .440 or .445 round ball with a
: .10-15 thickness 100% cotton patch.
: Lubrication can vary. If you give me more
: detail perhaps I can give you more info. Who
: makes the gun? What is the caliber? What
: size lead ball do you have? what kind of
: powder do you have available?
: ect,,--Previous Message--: Hi, I just bought

: should the patch be? What is : the best
: lubricant for the patch?. :
