I have a .50 Cal Billingshurst rifle, top hammer type, conical bullet, have shot it occasionally, but may want to do more . I know very little about black powder shooting so any advise would be appreciated. best powder, size of load, cleaning methods, etc. The gun weighs 27 pounds, 2" octagonal barrel, apparently belonged to one of the meat hunters when the Union Pacific was built in the late 1860's. Beautiful gun.
