I understand Paper Cartridges used doing the Civil War was a rolled paper tube with the Mini Ball at one end and the Powder at the opposite end.
Tearing the paper tube at the powder end and then pouring the powder down the bore.
Was the paper tube with the Mini Ball rammed down the bore after the powder or was the Mini Ball removed from the paper tube and then rammed down the bore?
Was paper cartridges used to load the Cap and Ball Revolvers?
Tanks,
J.
