Good advice BP Guy; That's just what I was thinking. Some caps can be real junk throwers, that litte peice of paper that holds the charge can turn to carbon and plug the nipple hole! That'll mess with your day of shooting for sure.
Any oil or fouling in the nipple itself will exasperate the problem. I use pipe cleaners, them fuzzy things pipe smokers use, and a brass brush to clean the nipple real good.
Cap's can be affected by storage and seasonal conditions. Temp swings, condensation, humidity,,,throw a tin in the glove box in November and they could be junk in a few days!
RWS Dynimite Nobel are top of the line. CCI Mag caps run a close second. The rest are box store junk. IMHO fred
