I know exactly what you are talking about, I have a repro Colt 1860 Army. Here is the story as far as I know i: Colt sold two different lines of repro BP revolvers. The first line was sold in the early 70s. The guns were made in Italy, by Pieta, I believe and have Itallian markings. Later, in the late 70s, early 80s, they had another line. parts for these guns were made in Italy, but not proofed because they were exported as parts only. The parts were assembled with some American made parts and case hardened and blued at the former Iver Johnson company. the finished guns were sent to Colt for inspection and preparation for shipping in Colt boxes with Colt literature. These guns have only Colt markings. An 1860 Army of this late production in perfect condition, in the box, unfired with all paperwork is worth about $500. Start deducting for anything less than perfect. I have one of these guns, fired once, with paperwork, %90,. I want to sell it for $375. I hope that answers your question

: I'm trying to identify exactly what I have
: here. I believe and have been told it is a
: Colt 1860 Army black powder in 44.
:
: On the top of the barrel is COLT in gold
: inlay. It has the sea battle scene on the
: cylinder and the matching number 43282 on
: cylinder, butt, front strap etc.. It has 44
: cal. on the frame just above the trigger
: guard. Now it has no other markings.... no
: import, NO MADE IN ITALY or UBERI, NAVY ARMS
: ETC....
:
: Now, I called Colt and they gave me info on
: a company to call that used to make these
: pistols for them. That company said that my
: pistol was made by the first company and
: that they are out of business.
:
: Can any tell me yes or no for sure that this
: a colt. I have no box or paperwork but
: around here somewhere is a powder flask and
: bullet mold.
:
: Thanks
