About the only thing I know about Hawes is they built a lot of cheap crap during the "Spagetti Western" single action craze of the 60s. They were made of mystery metal with steel liners in the barrel and cyliners. --Previous Message-- : I just bought a used hawes 36 cal. hawes went : out of business years ago. it appears that : it is an exact replica of the pietta. hawes : was just a importer.the gun was built in : italy. the gun is in truly perfect : condition. it came in a kit the original : balls caps and flask are still in the box : there are 96 balls and 96 caps so I figure : it was shot 1 time. can anyone tell me if : pietta actually built this gun. It is a 1858 : model full steel frame with top strap over : cylinder. it looks just like the 36 cal : police with 5.5 in barrel. Thanks Vic ( : sundowner ) :
