I'm trying to identify exactly what I have here. I believe and have been told it is a Colt 1860 Army black powder in 44.
On the top of the barrel is COLT in gold inlay. It has the sea battle scene on the cylinder and the matching number 43282 on cylinder, butt, front strap etc.. It has 44 cal. on the frame just above the trigger guard. Now it has no other markings.... no import, NO MADE IN ITALY or UBERI, NAVY ARMS ETC....
Now, I called Colt and they gave me info on a company to call that used to make these pistols for them. That company said that my pistol was made by the first company and that they are out of business.
Can any tell me yes or no for sure that this a colt. I have no box or paperwork but around here somewhere is a powder flask and bullet mold.
Thanks
