Has anyone ever done a study to determine if there is an optimum spin rate for round ball accuracy? Over stabilized bullets are inaccurate as are under stabilized bullets and there should be the perfect spin for bullets and round ball. I am a mathematical dunce but it seems to me that the rate could be computed. Knowing the rpm for best accuracy, one could compute the muzzle velocity for a gun's rifleing rate to achieve that rpm.
Just thinking and I usually get in trouble when I do that.
