peep sights

I am having troubles sighting in my muzzleloader and need help. I am shooting decent groups at 100 yds. but am still 3" low and have adjusted the rear sight as far as they will go up. Will moving the entire sight forward on the barrel raise my group? They are now located on the barrel all the way to the rear yet I see another set forward of the breech that may accomodate it. Thanks for all the help I can get.
