Colt Patterson

Purchased a Colt Paterson Repoduction last winter for my Father In Law. Shot it, disassebled to clean but the gun will not go bact together. The Pin lock that holds the barrel to the frame will not pass all the way through, almost like the pistol has become mismatched. Cylinder is seated fully and barrle is seated all the way back. Has anyone had this problem? Pistol is by Pretti.
