Be as consistent with your powder charge as possible. Try different powder loads.
Be as consistent with your ramrod seating pressure as humanly possible.
Run a damp patch through the bore after each shot.
Try to shoot the bullet that fits the bore the closest. Many times small bullets will perform badly because the thick petals of the sabot don't open up consistently and stay with the bullet further downrange. thinner sabot petals open more quickly and consistently. Always try to get as close to the actual bore diameter as possible with your bullets. It's hard to beat .45 cal bullets in a .50 cal Encore....there are some .475 cal combinations available if you can find the sabots for the bullets.
