Posted by NPW on 9/3/2003, 9:52 pm CROWLEY: As well it should be! It's common knowledge that if you actually have plans on going anywhere here in the 'Dub, the TV title is the first step you're gonna have to take. It's a stepping stone for greatness.....names like TJ Killingbeck, Calvin Astroth, Bud Morgan, Ric Owens...all former Television champions. This isn't some stupid jobber title, this is the REAL deal! MASTERS: That's very true. Flare is the BWWa Silver Dollar Champion, and Toshiaki Shirakawa is the EAWC Crusierweight Champion. They've already established themselves in other places, and now they want to do the exact same thing here in National Pro. It won't be an easy task, however, as Megaera "The Fury" has been tearing through the competition ever since her debut at The Stand. This match really can go in any direction, and I think that we're in for a real treat here. MACE: (On the house mic) Ladies and gentlemen, this match is scheduled for one fall, and is a three way dance for the National Pro Wrestling Television Title! Introducing first, from Tokyo, Japan..... [RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!] MACE: ....weighing in at two hundred nineteen pounds, the EAWC Cruiserweight Champion, Toshiaki Shirakawa! [The masked man makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation. He wears a red mask with horns which covers his whole face, and white pants with a red dragon down the side of both legs. The EAWC Cruiserweight title is strapped snugly around his waist. "Shaki" lightly slaps the outstreched hands of the screaming fans as nears the ring.] MASTERS: And listen to the ovation here at Budokan Hall for the hometown hero! They love him here! CROWLEY: That may be true, but I doubt he's too proud of them. I'd probably wear a mask too if I had to tell people that I was from Tokyo. MASTERS: Well, I highly doubt that has anything to do at all with why he wears the mask, but to each his own, Crowbar. Very little is known about this Japanese superstar, and it should be very interesting to get our first glimpse of him here on Firefight. [Shaki climbs up the stairs on the ring and climbs up the turnbuckles from the outside. He gives a nice hand gesture to the fans before doing a moonsault into the ring, landing perfectly on his feet.] ## Another one bites the dust ## MASTERS: Well, that was impressive! CROWLEY: Maybe, but a moonsault isn't gonna stop a psycho like Megaera from clawing right through that mask and feasting on his features. And besides, if you REALLY wanna talk about impressive in this match up, you've got to talk about Megaera's 720 Phoenix DDT. I'm thinking if she hits that tonight, that title's not going ANYWHERE. MASTERS: You know Ken, I might have to agree with you there. [Shaki removes his belt and hands it over to Dan Bash, who takes a moment to admire it's craftsmanship before handing it over to a staff member on the outside of the ring.] MASTERS: Shirakawa's title is not on the line tonight, and neither is Flare's, so both of them have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain. CROWLEY: On top of that, Megera can lose her title without even being pinned. And if THAT wasn't enough to piss her off, she's still got to compete later on in the Pyramid of Pain match! I'll bet you she comes out swinging hard and furious, in true Megaera fashion! MASTERS: And on top of THAT, Megaera and Flare had a not-so-friendly confrontation last week, if you'll recall. CROWLEY: Ohh, I recall all right, and something tells me that they will too. [A loud, low thud sound echoes throughout the arena, and the house lights go down. A ball of fire appears on the NationalTron, gradually forming into a fiery "F". The video slowly zooms in on the F, accompanied by an appropriate WOOOOSSHHH. The F grows larger, larger, larger, and] [BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!] ## YEEAAAAAHHHH ## [Flare leaps out of the pyro, ladder in hand and the BWWa Silver Dollar title strapped firmly to his waist. He is dressed in his typical matrix-style longcoat, with his flame stylized wrestling gear underneath. Screaming out to the crowd, he falls to one knee, holding his ladder above his head as he poses for the crowd.] [BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!] MACE: Introducing next, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada....weighing in at two hundred twenty five pounds..... ## The world is my expense ## MACE: ....the BWWa Silver Dollar Champion......FLAAAAAAAAARE! [BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!] [Flare seems genuinely confused by the reaction of the crowd as he looks around and shrugs.] MASTERS: Doesn't sound like too many Flare fans out there. CROWLEY: Why should there be? This kid's an arrogant goof who only thinks about himself. MASTERS: Kinda like you? CROWLEY: Kinda, but I'm better looking. MASTERS: Haha, sounds like you're a little jealous of the impressive youngster. CROWLEY: Me? Jealous? Of THIS flamer? Spare me, Masters. [Before Flare gets very far down the ramp....] [THWACK!]
