Posted by BC on 5/26/2002, 9:50 pm MASTERS : Fans, Fratricide is out of the Tournament, and Calvin Astroth and Bud Morgan have advanced into the Bracket 'B' finals! This next match starting now pits the Demonstone Clan -- who scraped by The Rock Brothers in the first round -- against the returning Ric Owens and five-time KMM Cup winner, 'Union' Jack Hampton! CROWLEY : And you can't argue with Hampton's track record here in the Kay Emm Emm Tee Tee Tee! He and the late 'Union' Jack Windsor owned this event for a half-decade! And Hampton's decided that this event right here is his last wrestling show EVER! You gotta know he wants the win -- even if it means going right through the D-Stones! Kick that shiznit, Ariel!! ARIEL [holding up the house mic] : Ladies and gentlemen! This tournament match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first... [The arena has darkened and familiar music is heard : "Gimme The Prize", by Queen. This brings the fans to their feet in recognition of the ever-popular Kurgan Demonstone. Kurgan emerges with his sister-in-law Sanity in front of him.. and his brother Gregor coming out directly behind! The cheers for the NPW Security Chief are immense, and Kurgan pauses, looking around with a smile. Gregor slaps his shoulder as his brother shakes his head with emotion and raises his fist to the sky.] ARIEL : They weigh so gosh darned much I couldn't even begin to guess! They are one of the most dominant tag teams in wrestling history! Lead to the ring by Sanity.... Kurgan Demonstone! Gregor Demonstone! THE DEMONSTOOOOONE CLAAAAAN!!! MASTERS : The recently-retired wrestler and recently-hired NPW Security Chief is getting a huge ovation from these Ottawanian fans. That's great to see! CROWLEY : If Owens is 'NPW's Golden Boy', and Morgan 'NPW's Chosen Son', then Kurgan Demonstone could be called 'NPW's Favourite Uncle'. He was a killer in the ring, but as you can see by those heavy knee braces, he's been forced to retire. That being said... THE MAN IS SEVEN FEET ONE! HE'S HUUUUUUUUGE! Is Oens ready for this, coming off surgery? [As Freddie Mercury wails on, the two brothers make their way ringside, Kurgan slapping as many hands as he can. Sanity, who chased Didi Rock around the ring last match just for fun -- but who shook her hand afterwards as the Rock Brothers did the same with her charges -- leads the way, rolling into the ring and taking center-court. Gregor and Kurgan each step over the ropes, heading to the turnbuckles and raising their arms. Finally, the music dies and the lights come back up... before dying down again s the opening strains of Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" guitar riff rings out over the building's loudspeakers. Several clips of Ric Owens' matches show on the large NorthernTron above. The fans are on their feet, as 'NPW's Golden Boy' prepares to enter.] #Look in my eyes, what do you see? ARIEL : And their opponents! First.. from Springfield, North America! He weighs in at 225 pounds, and is a former NPW champion! He is 'The Exciting One'... 'HIGH EXCIIIIIIIITEMNT' RIIIIIIIIIC OWWWWENNNNNSSSS! [The crowd is already alive as the former NPW Champion, "High Excitement" Ric Owens appears from behind the curtain under the NorthernTron! Above him, the words THE EXCITING ONE roll across the enormous screen. Ric is dressed in his white, blue, and red gear today and his face is brightly painted in a similarly coloured, detailed style. #I sell the things you need to be [He slowly scans the crowd from left to right. He can't help but smile as he drinks in the crowd's appreciation for him. Red and white pyro shoot from the ceiling to the stage below and blue pyro waterfalls off the top of the NorthernTron as Ric steps off the stage and makes his way down the ramp. Making his way slowly to ringside, he pats the hands of several fans along the way. #Neon lights, a Nobel Prize [On the apron, he wipes his feet before entering the ring - a show of respect to those in the sport long before him. Once inside, he raises his arms to the cheers of the crowd. As the music fades out and the cheers subside, he makes his way to the ropes and stretches out on them, awaiting his partner.] [A moment later, the arena re-darkens and spotlights twirl over the crowd depicting the British flag. As white, red and blue pyro explodes on the stage, the words UNION JACK HAMPTON flash across the NorthernTron. As Hampton has not been seen in some time in these parts, the crowd reaction is good for the Crit who's taken Canada as his adopted nation. "Hail, Brittania" begins to play -- and is almost immediately mixed in with "The Maple Leaf Forever".] ARIEL : AND HIS PARTNER! He hails from London, England, and weighs in at 217 pounds... he is a five-time winner of the Karen Mace Memorial Cup.... 'The Hammersmith Hitman', 'UNION' JAAAAAACK HAAMMMMMMPTOOOOOOOOON! [Hampton steps out, a Union Jack over one shoulder and the Maple Leaf over the other. His tights and boots in the fashion of the British flag, the 40ish Hampton waves them about as he stands on the stage. Finally, heading towards the ring, Hampton pats hands as he goes and even poses for a photo with a young fan before rolling into the ring. Climbing up on a turnbuckle, Hampton waves about the flags before handing them out and high-fiving Owens, the arena lighting up.]
