Traffic Pro

I look to switch my CDR-22 to a Traffic Pro in my Boxster. Is this basically switching over + installing the antenna? Is this reverse wire and speed wire really required or will the Traffic Pro function correctly without it? I found some other info on the net installing the device but no word about the reverse and speed signals. Thanks for any info or links
