I would think it' still drinkable, but then there is only one way to find out. Scotch and other liquors high in alcohol do not go bad under normal circumstances. However, if carelessly stored (heat or not right side up) then there is a possibility the stuff goes bad. Even if there is some light evaporation the contents can still be enjoyable after 53 years. If you hold the bottle against a strong light can't you see the fill level?
