I would recommend that you continue to carefully stock your store. As the days to Christmas and the New Year get closer you will get a much better feeling how your sales are going. Unless you have reasons to purchase today because of lower prices there is really no reason to wait a little to prevent overstocking. I cannot see how you could run short on inventory for the holidays. You think they are going to run out of Jim beam? If you run short of something you simply order it. You might want to be especially careful for New Year purchases. Sales people will try to convince you that this year is the best for Champagne and sparkling wines. Yeah right, just like last year or even the millennium year where almost all retailers way overstocked, including us. I suppose the only good thing is that the merchandise doesnt turn bad. Again, unless you get merchandise at a much lower price this month or next month there is no reason to panick. I would think that 29% is a high number, at least it is for us, but then I am not familiar with other areas of the U.S.
