I can't say I heard of Order of Merit Distillery in N.Y., but I certainly don't know all of them. I'm a little confused now because Order of Merit is or at least was sold by a Canadian distiller. I'm not sure they are still in business, but know their whisky is still being sold in Europe and Asia. Some years ago the Canadian government gave this whisky the highest award (Order of Merit) and thus the name evolved. I'm not sure wether your bottle is related or from yet another U.S. distillery with similar name. Let me do some research and perhaps I can come up with a more reliable answer.
