You will want to try to keep the retail space as large as possible since it also makes a better impression on customers. I would not be discouraged by the size.
Well, with 2000 sq. ft you really need to carefully consider the layout, but it certainly can be done. I know stores smaller than this and they are very successful. It also depends on the type of inventory you will specialize in. Lots of wine, beer or spirits, or a combination of all of them.
