I believe the chain store are killing the American Dream.
Communities are no longer communities.
Why can't we have mom and pop businesses again?
Let the Real Estate bubble bring the store rent down to a more reasonable level.
If American would only be willing to pay 5% - 10% more and resist the lure of low prices of chain stores, more Americans can have JOBS locally!!!!!
And one of them may be your TEENAGE children!!!!!
In Hong Kong in the 60s, 70s, 80s, every district has mom and pop shops catering to local clienteles. Soon chains bring discount that under cuts the livihood of families.
This is not unlike what happened in America.
What would you teenager do to get a Summer job? Go to the next State, Town, mall?
