As you know, I am currently in the process of working with different agencies and services to develop some service and project ideas for the Voice your Choice monies available. As you know the local residents took part in voting for their top priorities earlier this year.
I am now in the process of working with different organisations and agencies to develop some projects or services that will fit within the chosen priority areas. The funding available has been broken down in proportion to the amounts of votes cast, therefore Job Opportunities received the most votes therefore this priority has received the most amount of funding. I have broken down the top priorities and funding available below.
Health - £19,000
Services for Older People £10,000
Doctors Facilities £9,000
Education & Job Opportunities £22,000
Job Opportunities £14,000
Supporting Children’s Learning £8,000
Environment £20,000
Fly Tipping, Litter & Rubbish £11,000
Dogs, dog mess & other animal problems £9,000
Community Safety £24,000
Anti-Social Behaviour £12,000
Drug Dealing £12,000
Children & Young People £15,000
Free Activities for Children & Young People £7000
Thing for kids to do after school £8000
This is a potential funding opportunity for community and voluntary groups. We need projects to be formalised by early November 2009 so that we can get all the appropriate paperwork and advertising ready for local residents to vote on which projects they want to receive the funding in December 2009. The projects with the most amount of votes in this next stage of voting in December 2009 will receive the funding, in theory we should end up with 10 projects or services e.g. Children & Young People total funding is £15,000, the project with the most votes for Free Activities for Children & Young people will receive £7,000 and the project with the most votes for Things for kids to do after school will receive £8000 (as broken down above).
