TEMPORARY POST OR SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY – Drugs Support Team
We currently have a temporary vacancy in the Drugs Support Team at HLG. The team is funded by the Crime and Drugs Partnership and Housing and supports homeless drug users across Nottingham City and the agencies that work with them. The team is a specialist Tier 2 substance misuse service and aims to help people to access and sustain both drug treatment and accommodation.
Temporary Drugs Worker – Drugs Support Team for Homeless People (DST)
£19,621 (37 hours) Ref no. 07/09
This post is currently funded until the end of March 2010, with a possible extension beyond that point.
We are looking for someone with:
· A proven track record of assessing and working with people with substance misuse difficulties
· A commitment to supporting people in exiting a lifestyle of homelessness and problematic substance misuse
· The ability and skills to provide a drop in service in a variety of settings such as hostels, day services and the Health Shop and to work in partnership with a range of agencies
· Motivation, energy and the ability to manage a caseload effectively
· The ability to provide individual support and casework for drug users on an ongoing basis
