I wonder if you could help with this please. As you may be aware there is a pot of money which is available to be shared out to community groups/charitable organisations for fire safety. Each group could be entitled to up to £2000 each which is a substantial amount available.
Since the law has changed regarding fire safety, any organisation charitable, community or otherwise, must be compliant. Failure to do is breaking the law. If they ever got a visit from a Fire Inspecting Officer, they would want to see a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment and see that arrangements have been put in place for fire safety, including staff (and volunteers staff) training. Attaining compliancy includes conducting a fire risk assessment and ensuring that all staff (paid or otherwise) are trained in fire safety in the workplace. This is where we can help.
At no cost to the group, if they apply for this grant, we can provide them with the training so they can manage their fire safety as the law requires. It is government money given to the Fire Service to ensure fire safety where it is needed.
When we train fire safety we do so from a Fire Service point of view, therefore each person will go back into their respective homes and communities, not only properly trained, but able to apply their knowledge in their homes and any other workplace. Further from the people we already train who come back to us time and time again, they tell us how they pass on little tips and suggestions to their friends and relatives. We are all working towards one goal which is "Creating Safer Communities" - this is a real way to achieve this.
I would be grateful therefore if you could e-mail me contact details of community groups or charitable organisations you have in your area. I will then do the rest.
If you want to discuss this or any other part of our training, please contact me I'm happy to talk to you anytime.
