Family worker required as soon as possible to work jointly with parents/carers of North County Primary School and Gainsborough Nursery. Reporting directly to the head teachers, your main responsibility will be to work directly with mothers, fathers and carers in the home as necessary in a non judgemental way supporting them by understanding and promoting their primary rights and responsibilities in raising their children and helping them improve their parenting skills.
You will also work in collaboration with all delivery partners to maintain local knowledge of services to which parents may be signposted in order to provide guidance, support and information to parents.
The post is school based but requires frequent daily contact with families, communicating effectively in their homes face to face or by telephone.
This is a temporary contract until August 2011
Salary grade G5 12 - £18, 499 pro rata for 18 hours a week, 52 weeks of the year. (includes estimated 1.5% anticipated inflationary increase from April 2009)
