As part of our ongoing commitment to reduce electrical fires in homes, ESC has made up to £120,000 funding available to Trading Standards teams and Fire & Rescue Services to support effective consumer safety activity at local level.
ESC wishes to invite local Trading Standards teams, Fire and Rescue Services and other community safety bodies to apply for funding up to £5K per application/per local activity. We would expect funded activity to be delivered by March 2010.
To find out more and to make an application, please go to: www.escfiresafety.org.uk. Applications are now open until Friday, 28 August 2009.
In terms of public benefit, the initiative will provide an opportunity for the ESC to work in partnership locally to help the public to reduce electrical fires - potentially saving lives. The activity will also give local consumer safety bodies a further opportunity to support governments' national fire prevention campaigns.
Kind Regards
Lorraine
