VOLUNTARY & COMMUNITY SECTOR APPRENTICESHIPS
Mansfield & Ashfield YMCA are pleased to offer an exciting new project in partnership with Enable. We are offering Apprenticeships in Business Administration, Customer Service and Youth Work available at NVQ Level 2 and 3.
WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?
An Apprenticeship is a Work Based Learning Programme designed around the needs of an employer, which leads to a recognised qualification for the employee. Both new and existing employees can sign up. Most of the training will be carried out within the place of employment by our specialist training provider.
All Apprentices must learn key skills that support the individuals in their job role. These include Communication and Application of Number. They may also include other skills such as Information Technology, Working with Others and Problem Solving.
WHAT IS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE VCS APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME?
This is a unique Apprenticeship Programme open to volunteers and existing employees within the Community and Voluntary Sector.
The programme lasts between 8 and 18 months depending on the starting point and the individual needs of the Apprentice. Their knowledge and work experience is assessed through a portfolio of evidence that they must build and observations in the workplace.
IS THERE ANY COST INVOLVED?
No the programme is fully funded through the European Social Fund (ESF) so there is no cost involved to either the employer or the employee.
HOW DO I CHECK THE ELIGIBILITY OF THE ORGANISATION OR THE
INDIVIDUAL?
The individual must be:
Living or working in the East Midlands
Employed or a volunteer for a charity, voluntary or community organisation for 16 hours per week or more
Aged over 19
The organisation must be:
A charity, voluntary or community organisation
Every apprentice will be supported by a personal Development Assessor and will receive a tailored programme to meet their needs.
